The water spigots for full hookups are on the wrong side of the camper however so bring extra hose. My real takeaway for the park is the noise. It’s located between two quarries and semi trucks pass 50’ away about every 10 seconds in the morning and a train comes through several times a day. This morning they graded the campground with heavy equipment not 20’ away. I know it was just chance that we stayed here on the 4th, but people from the local area bring very large fireworks and detonate them here in the park on the 4th which I understand but it was hard to even hold a conversation between 7-11 pm. Leaving exhausted.

We lucked out and found a nice little campground for the busy holiday weekend. Located about 15 mi n of Sioux Falls, SD. Campground is located by the ball fields and the Sioux River, has a nice playground, clean bathhouse and hot showers. Quiet weekend, did laundry in town, good dinner at Mex restaurant in historic opera house building, and did some grocery shopping. Very relaxing and quiet.

Great little park! Bathhouse well maintained and hot showers. Tons of grass areas, RIGHT on the river, nice bike/walk trail around it. New big fenced dog park in walking distance. Baseball/football field. No shade in the RV section itself but all around there are big trees.
Quite during the weekend. During the week 4-6 trains from 6:30am till noon. with lots and lots of close horn blows. At least it is not overnight, and they start at a reasonable hour.
Recommend spot 11 as that puts the river on your camp side and steps away from the walking path. Its a back in, but you could treat it as a pull through just driving through a bit of grass.
You sign up on the cities website, rather painless and pay via credit card ($175 a week after tax). Shows you the available spots. I pulled into the dog park and logged in to pick my spot.
Seems they do long term "seasonal" stays. The pull throughs were "booked" while I was here, but only 2 of the 7 were actually occupied at any point. Several long term people (well kept no problem) in other spots around the park.
20 minutes from Sioux Falls and all the big box stores. But Dell Rapids has several gas stations, few restaurants and several locals bars. Ace hardware, and a big grocery store.

We will stop again!
Due to street construction we did have a challenge with the reduced lane width and understanding the traffic cones! Snow or road construction are the two SD seasons!

There are electric and water hookups, but no sewer or dump station. Sites are very level but somewhat close together. That didn't matter since we only had 1 neighbor while we were there. Our site was right on the river and it was buggy at night.
Reservations are accepted but walk-ins are permitted as well.
There is a small playground on site. Next to the campground is a baseball stadium where amateur teams play. Across the street and river are more county parks with the usual facilities. There's a bike route that runs through the park and city. It's easily walkable to downtown Dell Rapids where there are several restaurants and shops.
