Spent the weekend here to try out our new camper. Overall experience was good. There is clean restrooms centrally located. There is at least two water spigots to get potable water. There is no electric or water hook us at the sites. I liked that there was bear proof containers for storing coolers, etc. There is also bear proof tra... more

“Great location, little service.”

Reviewed Jun 23, 2018

This is a wonderful spot near the driveable Morrow Point Dam road with a cool railroad exhibit and picnic area. It’s at the very bottom of a canyon so there is no cell service. Good dry toilets and potable water. Not much room for large rigs but there is a circle drive.. A well-stocked store is within walking distance. Don’t expect muc... more

“No cell phone coverage ”

We are not sure how the other reviewers got Verizon coverage, but there is none on this campground. We paid $8 because the water was shut off for the season. There was still water available in the bathrooms. The visitor center was also closed for the season. The campground is nice, there are a couple old trains on display. We got a war... more

“Nice little campground.”

Reviewed Aug 11, 2017

We were told by the National Park Ranger to stay here with our 40' fifth wheel. However, after looking at the website after the fact, 30' was the max. We were able to find a spot though. Only a couple of sites would have worked for our trailer our size. The camp host does not check the tickets posted on the site poles by campers be... more

We had mechanical problems and were trying to find someplace to spend the night; on Fourth of July weekend. Yep. We were resigned to our first-ever stay at the WalMart when I remembered a buddy saying there was a campground just off Hwy 50 near the tiny town of Cimarron. We pulled off to see. On the Saturday of the 4th of July weekend,... more
