“Secluded but not quiet.”

I thought that since this campground was at the end of a very long, super rough road that it would be pretty quiet. It was not- the road had several ATVs running along it even though there were signs saying that wasn’t allowed. Also our neighbor ran his generator all evening long until literally 10 pm on the dot. As a tent camper we had no escape from the noise. Not worth the extra 1 hr drive out of our way. I would suggest instead grabbing one of the many free dispersed camping spots along the road because at least you won’t have to deal with neighbors.

Christmas Meadows is a really beautiful campground. It seems pretty popular, sounds like some reservations are made months in advance but I lucked out and got a walk in spot on a Saturday afternoon. The hiking trail is also very popular, I drove my class C in hoping just to park at the trailhead but it was packed (and so were the nearby boondocking spots) so I opted to pay for a site.
The camp host is very friendly and nice, there are shady and sunny camp spots, potable water (though I don't think any spigots had threads), vault toilets, and a garbage dumpster. There was also a huge stack of free wood, I think they get a lot of downed trees on the trail/road.
The price is typically 18$ a night but is half off with an America the Beautiful pass.
The dirt road in to the campground is a few miles and pretty washboardy and a little tight in spots (as in hard to pass people) but I think it's worth it, though really I would recommend looking for a boondocking spot along the way unless you really want to be close to the trail head.
The cell signal was surprisingly ok (and was up the whole road) on Verizon with a booster.
Tami Evergreen would stay here again
