Behind the General Patton Memorial Museum. Clean and nicely designated spaces. Good for an overnight. Some road noise, but that's to be expected. Otherwise a quiet night.

I stopped here for one night. Access was easy and the sites were clean. There is a camp host and he will check in with you to see how long you're staying. The only downside for me on a Friday night was all the OHV side-by-sides that was running well after dark. That created a bit of a noise disturbance but it seemed to abate by 10 PM.

Catch the entrance to the right of the General Patton Memorial Museum. Also be sure to take in the tanks and museum while your at it. No cost to stay at the site, but recommend the South Joshua BLM site instead. It's a bit further of the highway, but quieter and less lights to see the sunset, stars and sunrise.

Also as anywhere it’s the luck of the draw whether you will have quiet neighbors or not but at least there’s a camp host here to keep things under control. No generators after 9 PM. Really close to the south entrance. The right side has great views of the mountains. Relatively level.

We stayed here in March of 2021.
This is a very convenient place to overnight. It's close enough to the highway for ease of access but far away enough so that noise is not a problem.

Drove intoChiriaco Summit. The gas station parking lot was filled with semis. Very noisy. Saw sign to dry camp behind the museum. Huge lot and totally empty. Despite being near Freeway and all the semis, this was totally quiet. Had an excellent night’s sleep. Definitely recommend for an overnight boondock

We loved this FREE camping so much better than BLM. Here you have a great host, Paul. He makes you feel welcome and is a wealth of knowledge. He is one of the true Nomads, so if dry camping is your thing, be sure and quiz him. This is located just outside of Joshua Tree so that was a really nice location. Everyone was super nice so we felt very comfortable leaving our airstream alone while we explored. Not sure we would feel this comfortable on BLM land. The tanks out back are fun to explore and the grocery store, gas and restaurant were all within walking distance. The nights are quiet and cool. Perfect local. Seven day max stay. Big rigs will fit here and there is a turn around at the end of the road. No need for a four wheel drive. Road is great and short. Follow the signs it is in behind the Patton Museum. Start looking for the sign as you pass the museum on the left, before you get to gas station.

Was able to get a good level spot thx to camp host, Paul for pointing out one side is more level than the other side of sites. Felt safe and not terribly noisy considering I10 not far away. Convenient location with gas and restaurant in addition to museum.

Everything was great other than a weird and creepy host that made us uncomfortable.
Good place if you just staying a few days, but can get vary windy.
If you have a big 5th wheel or Class A, the turnaround is very small.
