This is one of my favorites camps in the area and I try to stay here whenever possible. There's only a handful of sites so camp fills up pretty quickly on the weekends. The road getting here is a bit rough but improvements are underway so I hope that the drive will be easier when the road work is done.
There are a few walk-in sites for tenters to the right when you drive into camp. The larger campsites are on the left. They are all spaced out enough to offer privacy from the neighbors and all back up to the Boulder River with a nice view. The river is incredibly noisy all year long so it drowns out most noise that other campers are making. The loop is a tight curve so use caution if you have a larger RV but I've seen folks in here with trailers in the 25' range so it is possible. Two pit toilets near the entrance and a water pump. A couple of the sites have bear boxes if you need them. No garbage service in the area.
No camp host on site but the Sweetgrass County Sheriffs do regular patrols in the area and keep tabs on campers so don't be alarmed if one drives through camp and takes your license plate number. There was a problem with vandalism in the area a few years back and since the Forest Service doesn't have a local office the Sheriffs office stepped up to patrol the area.
