China Ranch Date Farm

We stayed here a few years ago as Harvest Hosts members. The road in and out is a slot canyon, somewhat narrow, winding road - we honked our horn on a couple of the turns. As you drive down the canyon, you will be amazed to come upon this beautiful green oasis! They set us up off to the side of the parking area and suggested we run our generator as it was blazing hot, use our AC and come in to the shop later. Which we did... hot black Lab. Really cool place to walk around - enjoyed walking through the date trees and reading the signs about the dates. Interesting history and great areas to walk, except at the end of May it was already too hot to walk much... cool little stream running through and great sense of humor if you look around. The date shakes were AMAZING! A fun night stop and a place I would love to go back to in the cooler months!
