“It’s There But Steep Loose Dirt Hills And Turns Getting In”

I arrived at the turn off mid-day. Good paved road until the turn off and then red, loose dirt. The hills were steep getting to the actual campground ground and the turns were tight. Definitely recommend a 4x4 and rig with some good clearance.
Once you do make it in, there are several dry camp areas and a few covered picnic tables.
Getting there is a definite challenge. It was dry. Thank goodness. I’m thinking traversing those steep slippery hills when it was muddy would be a near impossible endeavor.
Safe travels! Blue West is another 2-3 miles down the road. Good roads, safe.

I didn’t actually make it to this campsite, nor did I drive toward it using the suggested Google route. I was on my way to Blue West and turned left at a sign for Chimney Hollow. If I hadn’t seen the beautiful lake just beyond, I wouldn’t have gone down the hill, which is of the “hang on and scream” variety. Do not attempt in a big rig. The area near the lake is well-cared for but appears to be for picnicking only, and the surrounding roads were not ones I wanted to attempt in a Sprinter. I bet if you’re hiking in or have an off-roader, it’s a good campsite.
