We arrived September 11, 2023 reserved for 4 days to explore the area. It was immediately obvious that there had been little to no yard maintenance for the entire spring-summer and now fall season. What little grass there was left was yellow and dead. The only green was from weeds - 3.5’ thistles and goat heads. Who knows when the last time it was mowed since there were lots of needles, dead leaves & other tree debris everywhere. Every host site had a “off duty” sign the entire time. Even though there were plenty of campers, it looked abandoned by those who were tasked to take care of it.

This is great little park. But needed mowed. Many of the sites with partial hookups cannot see the water. They've allowed the trees and vegitatation to block the view. They could clean out the under growth and still have the feeling of it being natrual. The bathrooms are clean and the RV sites are level and easy to access. Site 17 ... more

The bathrooms are clean and the RV sites are level and easy to access. Site 17 has no shade from 9 am until 7:30 pm in the summer. Great swimming area. Kayaks, coanoes and rafts have a lot of room to be enjoyed.

The good: Within walking distance to the swim beach and FULL hookups right on the water with a nice big area in front of the camper for the doggos and kids to play. Also fairly quiet and camp hosts are friendly.
The bad: Campsites are fairly too close together and it smells in the heat because of the sewer lines from the campers. Sprinklers could be turned on more and a few of the amenities could be cleaner (playground was covered in cobwebs as were the bathrooms).
The ugly: SPIDERS. Not just a few here and there- no, HUGE spiders by the thousands. Squash one and four emerge. They built nests under my camper, under my car, under our tow vehicle and just...everywhere! I can normally deal with spiders outdoors but this...this was like the acromantulas from Harry Potter defended for a family reunion. Now I understand how Ron felt "I don't like spiders"... me too Ron, me too.

It’s privately run so they don’t offer the federal Senior or Access discounts. They did give us a $2.50 Good Sam discount, which put the price at $35 for water and 30 amp electrical.
The bathrooms and showers are clean but dated.
It’s a bit of a drive to Clarkston and Lewiston (10-15 minutes) but overall quite nice.

We ended up here because we got a late start out of Salmon Lake, MT. The park is clean and well maintained. The fire rings were cleaned up (a pet peeve of mine). There is wood for sale (in season) and walking paths and river access. The only drawback is Hwy12 is right across the river, hence the 4-stars.
