We arrived past dark and were able to back into our space. There is trash service, bathrooms and a water pump. Nightly rate was $12. Beautiful campground close to Bitterroot River. Tons of chipmunks, squirrels and birds. Each campground has a picnic table and lots of space.

We stayed here for about 5 nights. All spots are first come first serve. No amenities other than a water pump and an outhouse. Pretty peaceful and quiet other than when people drove through to look at the site. Its about 15 minutes to Lolo or Stevensville. Easy access to Bitterroot River and was very beautiful.

I don’t think I would make this a destination camping place but for a few days of rest from travel, passing through its great. I would definitely stay here again.

We were headed up US-93 toward Glacier NP and needed a place to overnight and all of the NF campgrounds in the area were full. $18 for non-residents is a bit steep for no hookups, but this campground worked out well, as it is pretty well maintained and quiet, other than a fair bit of traffic on the loop in the early evening, and most of the sites are fairly large and well spaced. AT&T coverage was ok, with 2 bars of LTE and speeds up to 2 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 13 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

The campground is easy to get to with good signs. Traffic from Missoula at 3pm on a Monday was horrible (bumper to bumper).
I got a “river” site, but the water is still, like a pond. The mosquitoes were immediately attacking when I got out of the car. I don’t recommend a site by the river, instead, follow the road to a more wooded site (less mosquitoes).
At 10pm the campground gate closes, then there are nature sounds only, which is awesome. The sites are spread out nicely, too. At sunset, I heard a flock of geese settle along with many kinds of birds. After dark I heard coyotes in the distance.
There are dumpsters around to dump all your garbage. There’s a water pump at the entrance. Pit toilets are spread around, but I didn’t check them out.
For tent campers, it’s level and enough space for a giant tent.
Three bars on Verizon.
Would I stay again? Maybe—it was overpriced at $18. The still river wasn’t a good feature. Plus there’s garbage all over site 5, which I cleaned up when I left.

Stopped at Larry Creek (part of Bitterroot Nat Forrest), and both campsites there were full. Drove down the road a bit and found this. Very secluded, quiet, 17 sites, some drive/pull-thru, some just spaces to pull in or back in.
Picnic tables, fire rings with grills level & even spots. No hookups.
