Our campsite had a water logged picnic table kind of buried back in the weeds, our fire pit was surrounded by mud. We had full hookup but only needed electricity. The bathroom isn’t a total disaster but could sure some cleaning and updating! And some toilet paper. There were a couple rolls on the windowsill so I set some in a couple of the stalls. Boyfriend said there wasn’t even a place to put toilet paper on his side. It was sitting on the floor. No hot water to the sinks. I didn’t use the shower.
The girl at the office is nice as can be. And I give her 5 stars. The state just needs to work on the bathroom.

We’ve been traveling FT for & months and this was by far our most favorite place to camp. We had a big pull through site, no one around us. First let me start by saying how much I enjoyed seeing the deer. Every evening they would stroll through our campsite. Secondly, the hiking trails. We hiked everyday usually 3-4 miles. The only bad thing about the trails, the directional markings. We used the trail map, but the actual trail and the map sometimes did not match. We always found our way but sometimes we didn’t end up where we thought we would. They do have a pool, miniature golf and tennis courts. Access- if you map it use 376 Little Buffalo Rd and come in through 10. Don’t try to come in off of 119, that road is a nightmare. Twist and turns,16% grade. I would not pull a trailer through there. We did use it once to go to Walmart and it was scary enough in a truck. They do offer a 10% senior discount.

We stayed in a quite private, back-in site, #7. It had stormed severely about a week before our stay with local flooding so several of the sites were pretty muddy. Ours was somewhat muddy but dried up over the first 1 1/2 days. The campground is small and quiet, most sites are at least partially shaded, and people were friendly and respectful.
The public outdoor pool is huge and has a fun slide. There’s also a kiddie pool and a small concession stand. Admission is $6 per adult, $5 per child. It’s a bit of a hike from the campground but not terrible. There were several hiking trails and we enjoyed biking around the park to the pioneer homestead, museum/gift shop, and steam locomotive.
***Do NOT take the road to the Chief Logan Lodge and Conference Center if you have anything bigger than a pickup truck. The road is narrow and steep and will be hard on your engine and brakes! Be sure to take the east entrance off Old Logan Road which goes through the town of Mitchell Heights.***

There are a few trails from the campsite and if you have a car, lots to check out in this park. Sites 21-25 were up on a loop, more private but there’s a road that seems to be popular right now so lots of traffic is going by.
Make sure to check out the park map before you come. If you go in the East entrance you have to double back to the campsite. We called ahead and they recommended coming in through the West entrance. Use the address of 376 Little Buffalo Creek Road, Logan, that brings you into the museum and visitor center. We came southbound off 119 then took a left onto old Logan road (route 10). The rangers said not to turn onto 10 from Chapmanville, it’s the old road and not very good.
Very quiet and lots to do outside of the campsite area according to their map. It’s been raining the whole time so we didn’t get a chance to explore.
