Park employee says they will be temporarily closed for major renovations which were needed, but we enjoyed our stay. Quite park, hot showers, full hookups!

We stayed from Jan. 25-31 2022.
Bathrooms were dated but clean. Rangers patrolled the park sufficiently.
Quiet, but some road noise if you listen very carefully.
Nice trails with some off road biking. Workout equipment available on a trail. Picnic tables available on the trails.
Disc golf if you’re into that.
Laundry rooms were closed during COVID and not reopened.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR LARGE MOTORHOME DOWN THESE ROADS!! First of all getting someone to answer the phone to ask about reservations was hard, when we did get him to answer he said they had sites for large motorhomes. They only except cash and also require a $40 deposit to be returned on check out. We drove an hour south from where we were to get closer to Mobile. The trees are completely unkept and very low before you even get to the park. We are 13'9" so we are pretty tall. When we got there the man looked out the window and used a few choice words for the size of our rig. He immediately said he didn't think we could fit but he wanted us to drive our car in to see. The trees within the campground were also not trimmed and very low. The roads are narrow and there was no way we were fitting. So we had to leave and fight the trees outside the park again to get back to 65. Next time when we ask about a large motorhome, I'll ask will a semi truck fit!! Can't say much else about the place we immediately left, but the sites looked very shaded, would probably be nice for smaller RVs.

Quite a few pull-thru sites, but don't be deceived. There are sharp angles in some of the sites. Noticed that at least one camper had backed into their pull-thru site. Site 15 was a tight exit for our 31 foot 5th wheel. Lots of hiking trails. Did not use bathrooms or shower facilities. About a 15 minute drive to Downtown Mobile. $40 cash deposit returned promptly upon check-out. Passport America accepted but not advertised. Caution: tight fit when exiting park from office.
Park ranger patrolled campground all night.
Rate reported is Senior rate.

This was our 2nd stay here. This is a great little spot that's very affordable. They accept Passport America for 3 nights. They also have very reasonable monthly and weekly rates. The staff is super nice and the campground is patrolled by park staff. They have a great walking track with exercise equipment! This was the first place I have seen have something like this. Please see my video below for a better look. They also have basketball, frisbee golf, fishing, tent camping (with electric and water) and several bathhouses. You have to leave a $40 deposit, but it is promptly returned once you check out. There is some highway noise, but the beauty of this park more than makes up for it. There are several hikes and lots to do in the area. I recommend this park.

We were suppose to be in site 24 but somehow there was a person already there that the rangers were trying to get to get out apparently he was not registered. So we were put in site 28 but it was so unlevel we couldn't level with all our wheels on the ground! Flagged down a ranger and he immediately called back to the office and put us on site 38 which is perfect level and right next to the showers. Showers are clean but older. The ones near site 34 seem better than the ones by the playground . Park is quiet and well shaded. All the rangers are exceedingly helpful. Don't rely on GPS it won't get you there! We took exit 13 off of I 65 and followed signs.

This is the first place I have paid to stay on my trip from Colorado to Destin, FL. The others have all been free, either a city park with electricity of two Harvest Host sites with no hookups. The dense forest makes it feel like we are in the mountains.....if there was no traffic noise. But, it’s hot and I have the AC on for my German Shepherd so I can’t hear the road noise now anyway. All in all, a good place to stay. Getting here was a winding trip through some interesting neighborhoods using Apple maps!!! LOL. Also, when I saw someone post a picture of a white GSD in the park I had to stay here because my white GSD is traveling with me!!!

security also very good. The only "snag" is the noise of the highway not far. But when you are a fan of Walmart night, frankly traffic we have seen others! We went there Wednesday and Thursday, surely less busy than weekend.
If you are on the road, it’s perfect.
If you are looking for deep nature, maybe not very good.
Over all, in RV it’s perfect
