We stayed here in the Swift Puma loop in August of 2021. We had a magnificent view of Colorado Springs (very cool at night with the lights of the city -- no super-darkness here, if that's what you're looking for) and some awesome weather- and sky-watching. Our site was level and wonderful once we were backed into it, but it was quite a drop getting into it. They had firewood for sale at the park, so we picked some up and enjoyed a couple fires. Amazingly, this is a state park with full hook-ups, including electricity, water, and sewer. We took advantage of the laundry area while we were there. We visited a couple tourist sites in Colorado Springs, including Garden of the Gods and the National Museum of World War II Aviation. There were great trails in the park, though only those nearest the campsites allowed dogs. The site was hot during the day (no shade) and we couldn't always have our awning out because it could be pretty windy and a couple pretty intense storms blew through while we were there. Thankfully, that's where AC can come in! We enjoyed good internet access. Don't know if you could work there as far as internet speed, it wasn't something we needed to do. We enjoyed hearing taps played from the nearby army base; some folks might find that bothersome. We enjoyed being able to purchase firewood at the park for a couple campfires. Do keep in mind the fee (in addition to the regular reservation campsite fee) Colorado charges for its parks. We went ahead bought a one-year pass because we knew we'd use it.

This loop has 10-11 spaces. 10 is right at the entrance and overlooks all of Colorado Springs. Well spaced out tho not super private. Space 7 is the most isolated, on this side, tho it is back in for a smaller rig. Super clean and new facilities. Lots of trails in the park; easy morning walk right from the parking space. Would have liked to explore more but was on my way elsewhere.

We stayed at Raptor Glen loop, where sites 7-10 offer a spectacular hilltop panoramic view of the plains, including CO Springs and Ft Carson. The lights were quite a show at night. The camp site was well designed and constructed: the RV pad was very level with a slight grading for drainage, there was a large fire drum, and a tent/canopy pad with anchor rings. There were beautiful walking trails right up against the campground, and the entire area was gorgeous. There was some noise from Ft Carson in the form of reviles and occasional munitions which were enjoyable except for waking us up a few times.
Our one major issue was mobile data bandwidth. We had strong enough reception with both Verizon and AT&T using an antenna, but the bandwidth dropped to completely unusable at 8am sharp each non-holiday weekday morning and was problematic all day-- it was impossible to work. I'm not sure if this is some sort of scheduled throttling, or was due to excessive campground usage during working hours.
Overall, this was one of the best campgrounds we have been to, but don't expect to work or have significant mobile data during typical work hours.

Plan to stay for more than one night as there is much to explore and do in the Colorado Springs area. We were here for 1 short night in September 2021 in a travel trailer. There are miles of nice hiking trails but dogs only allowed on a few (due to the abundance of wildlife). We enjoyed the dog trails just before sunset & very early the next morning. Campsites are nicely separated by trees & shrubs. Sites are level in spite of the whole park being located on the side of a mountain. We LOVED the “revile” bugle from Fort Carson! Restrooms were clean but we did not see the shower house. There is a nice gift shop and interesting signage on the well-maintained trails. Colorado Springs is such a wonderful destination- you should plan to stay several days.

The site was level and very clean! Gorgeous views, close to hiking trails. Ask the park office for a geocache list- super fun! Don’t leave the awning out (it can get Very Windy).
Our site was Swift Puma 44- close to bathrooms, park, excellent views, pull through spot. We would definitely stay again and request the same location.

Our AT&T hot spot was varied at best; better at night which sometimes happens near military installations we’ve found, but be prepared for spotty coverage if that’s your carrier. You will hear Fort Carson military bugles to sleep, lunch, and wake so be prepared for those! Otherwise, clean and lovely state park with full hookups!

We had a great spot overlooking the south of Colorado Springs. This made for good views, but a windy location. So windy in fact a tent we had on the site blew away. It was entirely our fault and we thought it was lost, until the rangers brought it back in the morning!
Facilities were great and the visitor's center is worth stopping at. They have a great trail system so make sure to spend time at the park and not just use it as a basecamp for exploring the area (although you should do that too).
There is some noise from the nearby military base, but our family thought the bugle calls were fun.

We loved having full hook ups. Site was level, clean and well maintained.
The park was close to a grocery store and gas. Anything you need was nearby.
When we arrived the camper services building was still open and was really clean and new. We took showers there the first day but on 12-1 they closed them for the season. We were bummed we didn’t get to do a load of laundry before leaving.
So many quick beautiful hiking trails to explore. We saw so much wildlife!
The wind is a little brutal at night, I wasn’t prepared for that!
We would absolutely stay here again. Wonderful place.
