We paid$45.00 for one night and got a shaded site with electric only. There are no gravel or cement pads to park on, just a mowed field. There are water faucets all around the camp area, none of which say it is pottable water. Now we have no water hookup and no pottable water. After we had checked in, we were told that the showers were not working but that there were toilets available. Toilets consists of blue Johnnie's on the spot, you know the portable toilets like you see at fair events and no hand washing facilities .😳 Final bad news, the dump station is not working yet. They do have full hook ups available, they do cost more, they have no shade, and they are also parking in the grass field. The area is beautiful, clean, and does look nice. Just beware of the lack of advertised amenities.

This is standard RV-focused campground. The polices described above were very inconvenient for me, but if it's ok with you then this could be great.

This is our favorite campground near Glacier and our second time staying here. The first time we stayed here, it was in 2021 for maybe a week and this year we stayed a month and closed out the season with them (9/30/22).
- Very spacious because not enough people camp here (Ex. we asked for a spot away from people and they made sure anyone new that came was away from us haha. Very accommodating!)
- Staff is super friendly! (Ex. So we stayed 2 nights and crossed into CA for a couple weeks and came back to this campground for 3 more weeks. Because you can’t cross the border with plants without disclosing it, I asked the front desk if I could leave it with them for 2 weeks, as this is the first plant I’ve kept alive lol. They said yes, watered it, and took care of it the plant the whole time)
- We got a full hookup spot
- Quick drive to Many Glacier and St. Mary Entrance. Also not too far of a drive to Two Medicine
- No lights on the campground, so you can see all the stars
- Fire pit and picnic table (make sure you have your bear spray as bears do wander into the campground. We’ve seen a couple. And possibly other large animals due to droppings seen)
- Not much signal but we had a starlink which worked perfectly since there’s no trees obstructing signal
- They take Good Sams
I highly recommend if you’re RVing. We will definitely stay here the next time we’re in MT.

Campendium is Very helpfull for us. We come from the Netherlands, so my English is not correct.
We were here on 24 september 2022.
We liked to stay near the lake in St Mary, but that St Mary campground was full. They advised us Chewing Black Bones. We were happy to have a place for the night and have the possibility to visit Glacier.
But the campground was not what we like. It was a bare field. Only on the edge of the campsite were trees. In summer it must be very hot without shade.
Not each site has a table.
And there are only 2 buildings with toilets en showers. The showers look very run down, the photo from Cns05c placed d on 8/12/2018 is exact what is it, but 4 years further it is more worse!
The price is € 25,- without electricity or any other service. There is no wifi on the campground.
You can also choose a site with electricity.
I respect the owners, they do it on their way. But that is not what we like. So for us, once and not more.

We didn’t have a reservation but got right in. We like to boondock, so this was right up our alley, but if you want a luxury resort this isn’t it. We have a 38’ class A with a toad. There are full hookups, but we parked in electric only for the two days we were there. There is tons of room and lots of acreage for expansion. We were in a site along the tree line so we had shade most of the day, but many of the full hookups are in the middle of the grassy area with no trees. All we expect in an RV park is electrical, a dumpster and quiet hours and this park met all our needs. There is a dump station for $10 if you want to empty your tanks but not pay for a full hookup spot. There were many tent campers (this RV park sits between the east entrance to Glacier (about 7 miles away) and the entrance to Many Glaciers (about 10 miles), and both are popular for hiking). Two Sisters restaurant is a mile or so down the road and has good food. RV parks on the west Glacier side run between $100-175 a night. Chewing Black Bones is only $45. Mostly I was impressed with the friendly service. It is a pleasure to be welcomed with an honest smile and a kind attitude. I’ll be returning just for that reason. And the easy access to the east side of Glacier is a bonus.

Ended up in a tough situation and wanted to warn others. My partner and I are on a long road trip. We reserved a site online at Chewing Black Bones two days ago and showed up yesterday around 2 pm and get checked in and directed to our site. We set up our tent and chairs and headed to Glacier NP.
Upon our return we found our things gone and a new group at our site. At the office they told us they had a computer glitch and assigned other people (walk-ins) the site after we had set up. I guess they forgot we had just checked in that afternoon? They must have assumed our gear was from someone who was supposed to check out. So they broke down our camping gear and had it in the office. An inconvenience for sure but fixable!
Except because they didn’t know how to pack up a hub (pop up) tent, they completely destroyed our $450 Gazelle T4 tent. They did offer to give cash compensation of $350 based on the Amazon price for a new tent, and they said they’d put us in a teepee for the two nights we had booked. However, Amazon won’t deliver the tent for two weeks, and that leaves us homeless for the next two weeks of our road trip. The tent is available 5 hours away at REI for $400 but they aren’t willing to give us the extra $50 to purchase it there. The teepee is open to the air with foot-long grass on the bottom and full of mosquitos.
At some point in the six hours we waited for resolution I had mentioned maybe needing to call the police for a police report (to use in case my renters insurance would cover it) and the manager yelled at me about “threatening her with police” and told me that the police would side with her. I just would not trust doing business here in case something went wrong.
There were a few really nice employees but management was unwilling to make this right after destroying our personal property due to a “computer glitch.” We saw some not great reviews but figured it would be fine but now we’re out potentially thousands on this trip because they won’t make it right and help us replace the tent ASAP.
After compensating us only a portion of replacement cost, and none of the cost of a 10-hour round trip drive to get a new tent they also kept our old tent. The manager said “it’s mine now.” So apparently they can break your personal property, give you less than it costs to replace it, and then also keep the damaged item. As if you’ve sold it to them.
Don’t risk it since if something goes wrong you will be SOL.

I was able to make voice calls with acceptable quality. I could stream video intermittently, but it got a bit frustrating one of the three nights I was there. I like the primitive nature of the sites and the overall campground.
They have a couple of common facilities with showers, sinks, and flush toilets. But one of them was closed because it needed repairs and the other was in a rather sad shape. The showers were barely functional and some might refuse to use them as is. This is the biggest turn-off for me, as I'm a tent camper (for now) and having a quality shower and flush toilets is a real boon.
The staff was friendly and readily refunded part of my fees when I told them I needed to leave earlier than originally planned. A full refund of the two nights I was not going to be there. I managed to get a backcountry camping permit, so leaving was not due to any disatisfaction with the campground.
Would I stay here again? If I'm tent camping, yes. But if I could find another site nearby with good shower and toilet facilities I'd pay an extra $5 per night and stay there. If I were in an RV with a shower and toilet, I would certainly stay here. The location alone makes it so convenient to some of the best areas of the park, short of paying big bucks and staying in the park.

The staff will tell you that there is a Verizon signal, but it is non-existent when you are in the park. It seemed lovely here if you don't need internet, but if you need to work find another park. No Verizon, at&t, or wifi.
