The price doesn’t bother me, it’s Colorado and also close to Denver. Sites are well spaced with a nice metal picnic table and fire ring. Site 88 in Gold Rush was a pull through and SUNNY/HOT. The concrete was a bit cracked and unlevel and I had quite the time getting situated. Overall I would definitely stay here again, but would try to find some shade.

We really enjoyed staying at the Buffalo Loop site 137 which had full hookups, some shade from trees but still had an area with no trees that we could put our Starlink out with no obstructions. We really enjoyed staying at the Buffalo Loop site 137 which had full hookups, some shade from trees but still had an area with no trees that we could put our Starlink out with no obstructions. The site was right by the bathrooms which had really nice showers, toilets and sinks (but no soap at the sinks). They also had a hand dryer and a dryer up higher that was useful for drying your hair (in the women's restroom). Also in the women's restroom, shower stall 7 had decent water flow, but the middle shower stall (6) had horrible water flow - it took a long time to get the shampoo out of your hair!
The site also had a large metal picnic table and fire pit on a DG pad that was next to the concrete driveway. It also was surrounded by a large common green space area that had a few trees. This area was lots of fun for the kids. There were mountains in the far off distance with snow at the end of May and you could kinda see the reservoir from the site. Even though the park is surrounded by the city, it was really quiet (except for the overhead planes here and there).
The sites are spaced apart, so you don't feel like you are crowded at all! Site 139 next door was on the end, but has no shade, and even at the end of May, the sun could be brutally hot. Site 141 was a nearby back in spot, but it faced the reservoir and a field, so that seemed to be a nice spot too (but again, no shade). The camp hosts were very nice and really on top of things. The bathrooms were super clean, and I saw them hosing down and raking sites to get them ready for new campers. They mowed the grassy area too and really kept the campsite in tip top shape!
The only problem we had were the moths! They invaded everywhere, and we ended up finding them all over the trailer (and inadvertently took several of them with us). We left the campground and found several stowaways in our trailer (and probably will for days/nights to come).

Full hook-ups in the winter? Sign us up! We were able to grab a 2 week reservation at this park in January and it was beautiful, quiet, and pleasant. Water needs to be unhooked at night, but they offer 30/50A & sewer 24/7. Laundry room is usable and showers are warm.

Based on a snowstorm that blew in, we decided to delay the drive to the mountains west of Denver on I 70, and found this oasis in Aurora. The park is really beautiful and quiet in mid October and there are biking paths and trails. The reservoir had a nice clean beach where our dog enjoyed a swim. The showers use a credit card (not Debit as mentioned in a review) - and you have 5 long minutes of hot water for $1.50. Clean bathrooms, and large laundry facilities. I thought the campground was really nice and we have seen many. The raked gravel around the picnic table is a nice touch as you know someone cleaned it up. Well spaced apart campsites. This was a much appreciated place to stay.

The park is convenient to access Denver. It will be busy and you will hear city traffic. Sites are spacious well placed and generally offering shade from the heat. The park is convenient to access Denver. It will be busy and you will hear city traffic. Sites are spacious well placed and generally offering shade from the heat. Pads large, level concrete with generally long asphalt drives to accommodate RV and vehicle. We found the gravel around the picnic table and fire had been cleaned and racked for our arrival. These are FHUs and we had no trouble with the pedestal.
However, the park requires a state parking pass or an additional $11 per day on top of the $41 per day for the site. The shower house is clean but requires $1.50 for 5 minutes of water, credit card only.

We stayed for a few days so I could visit with my brother. We had to enter on the east side of the park because of flooding.We had full hook ups and it was a nice pull through site. Good cell phone coverage

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting my sister who lives in Denver. This is a nice little oasis in the middle of the big city. We could hear a little road noise from our campsite, but not as much as I would have expected.
We brought our inflatable SUPs hoping to get out on the lake, but the afternoon thunderstorms ruined that plan. Expect them in the afternoon/evening in the summer. We did see lots of bunnies around the campground, so hold on to your dogs if you bring them! I also had a coyote cross the road right in front of me in broad daylight!
The only downside to visiting this park is getting there. Denver traffic is not a lot of fun.

You have to pay to get in park (state parks pass helps). This park is so busy that it can be a 3 hour wait in line to get into the park on weekends and holidays in the summertime. Location of the park is very convenient to get access to Denver bicycle routes and paths. There is a constant stream of traffic on nearby roads. Our site had full hookups, everything worked fine. Site was level. Mostly the bath houses were in great shape. Showers are credit card pay only.

This is a nice campground, but is a cash cow campground with other minor issues. We stayed at this campground in June of 2023 for a week. First issues we ran into was this city park has 2 entrances, however, the roadway is blocked from the West entrance and the campground is inaccessible from this entrance due to the roadway being blocked (would have been nice to put in the email confirmation). Entering from the East entrance, there is a Gard Post that is super busy and requires presenting a permit for admittance (every time you leave the campground and return). The East entrance was frequently heavily backed up with vehicles entering the city park; prepare to be patient to get back into the campground if you leave for groceries. Because there is a reservoir at this city park, you must purchase (in addition to your campground reservation) a $3 water access fee pass. This access fee pass is required to enter the park/campground regardless if you will actually be accessing the water for actives. Additionally, if you have a state park pass tied to your vehicle's registration it's obsolete...doesn't grant you any accommodations at this city park/campground. There are dumpsters for trash and restroom/shower facilities on-site (showers are $1.50 for 2 minutes). City park maintenance will run lawn mowers and weed-eaters started at 8am sharp and do not care if you are sitting outside your rig enjoying they day, they will run the mower right next to you regardless if it throws grass on you. The site we stayed in was a pull-through site and concrete pad. Verizon coverage was 4-5 bars. No wifi is available at this campground. Finally, because there is a near-by reservoir, this area is heavy with mosquitos. For our first time staying at this city park/campground, we learned a lot and would not opt to stay here again.
