Wound up here after we left a different camping spot. Other then it being a little tight it was a pretty nice campground. Has toilets and showers. The camp hosts were nice and there weren’t any crackheads.

We were in site 12, which was the best site available on our arrival. Recreation.gov says this campground is lightly used, and maybe the layout is a factor. There are no campsite photos of the non-electric sites, and most of them are directly situated on the access road with no driveway. They are not double occupancy sites, but they are right next to each other on a platform of sorts. Those sites have no privacy from the road or the next site; you’d better have good neighbors.
All of the reservable electric sites were occupied, but these sites are even closer to each other than the platform sites. The bathrooms were not well maintained or stocked.
There were also a few long term campers who appeared to be set up there with a large amount of belongings either piled on top of their vehicle and/or set up around the campsite. We decided this wasn’t a place we wanted to stay more than one night.

Only 6 sites for rv. Paired up side by side with no room to put out awning. 1/2 mile hike to nature trail, which was overgrown. Not much to do. Clean new toilets and showers.

Spaces 2 and 12 far apart from others and well accommodate up to a 30ft. Some are double spaces that are level enough to accommodate a 20-24 ft trailer. The lake is a short walk from any of the spaces. There are showers available. We had internet on site 21 intermittently without a booster. We did not have internet access even with a booster when we stayed at site 12 which is a lower elevation in the trees than sites 18-24. It was a quiet place to stay. The town of Robbinsville, NC is 6 miles away. This park is just off Hwy 129 which is known as "tail of the dragon" We heard a lot of motorcycles during the day . They were there to enjoy the color change of the trees. It gets quiet at night.

Only reason for a 4 is sites we’re a little cramped in RV section and no dump station!!! Beautiful views from several trails within park and beach is almost a stone throw away. Really wished I would have brought my kayak and paddle board as this is a Great Lake for it. Will definately come back for more future experiences!!!

It was a beautiful drive to the Smoky Mountains. The campground is small: 21 sites, Six sites provide 15/30/50 Amp electric hookups.
There is NOT a dump station and the 6 RV sites are a little cramped together (hence the 4 stars) Tables and campfire rings with grills are provided at each site. plus flush toilets, hot showers and drinking water.
Cell service was weak but our weBoost cell booster solver that problem. 3-4 bars LTE Verizon with booster and 2-3 bars 4G ATT. We were able to stream Netflix with our ATT Mobley
