This is a beautiful park off the beaten path (hit a grocery store & stock up somewhere by the freeway!) and the campground was very clean with large spots. No issue with hookups. The camp hosts were very nice. Unfortunately for us we were both working and there are too many trees for starlink to work well, and barely any Verizon coverage, so we wound up in town quite a bit and didn’t do as much exploring as we would have liked. We would definitely stay here again if we didn’t need connectivity. Note: they do close the gates at 10pm. You don’t need a code to get out but you will to get back in!

This is a nice campground if you are interested in hiking relatively flat trails, mountain biking nice flow trails or paddling the Chattahoochee River. They are supposed to be getting another 20 miles of MTB trails at this state park over the next year or so. The campground has a large and newly built playground for kids that looked cool. Other than those activities, you can chill at your site and relax.
The state park is huge and it seems as if you will never reach the campground after entering the park. Keep in mind that the park is about 25-30 minutes away from anything like grocery stores or gas stations. If you work from home, make sure you have an AT&T hotspot. Verizon is useless. We couldn't even get texts to go out. Also, for those of you who like to watch television, antenna television is poor. The sites are spread apart well, as they are in most Georgia State Parks, but not many trees between sites at this campground. I would stay here again after the mountain bike trails are finished, but not before.

GPS likes to take you in the back side of the park, which can be closed… best to follow the clearly marked roads leaving old town Newnan. If your a large rig it can feel a bit narly to drive in, but again road is clearly marked and well maintained. Would definitely come back!

Kids can ride bikes around campground but not beyond as park roads are hilly.

Chattahoochee Bend is a great campground! Spacious sites with lots of hiking trails! Staff in the office are so sweet and very helpful. If you have Verizon.. be prepared to have almost no service. Our friends who camped with us had AT&T and had no issues.

I would have stayed here longer if there was good cell service. I got one Verizon bar in most spots at the campground and one to two on ATT but it was not strong enough to get me on a hotspot. Talked to a couple who said even with their boost they could not hold a signal. Office has wifi but not good when it rains. Would definitely go back on the weekend when I don't need to work!
Lots of trails, kayaking, biking options. Playground looked nice for kids, if it was open (oh, COVID).
Friendly campers. Huge sites and very well maintained. Quiet with lots of birds after nightfall.
All staff I came in contact with were very nice and well distanced :)
Town is far so be prepared.

Chattahootchee Bend is 2500 acres in size - large, hilly expanses of beautiful woods. The 5 star part of this park, for me, were the many hiking and mtn biking trails throughout the park. The several hiking trails my dog and I used were in great shape and were very clearly flagged with paint swatches on trees.
I stayed in a back in site on the first campground loop with 50amp elec and water hookup. The park roads and sites are in excellent shape. The sites are very large and well spaced from each other. I stayed here over Thanksgiving week, so the campground was pretty full, with lots of families, but it was very quiet and peaceful. The hookups are conveniently located on the edge of the site. There is a 2 lane dumpstation that’s very convenient to use as you’re exiting the campground. Both lanes are wide and straight.
The park is pretty far out from “town”, but the peace makes it worthwhile. The park office has some food and some camping/outdoorsy supplies, plus the staff there is very friendly. My Verizon reception was pretty low, only one bar. I couldn’t stream tv episodes on my ipad either with my jetpack or using data, but i could stream podcasts and upload photos. My SiriusXM radio did have fine reception.

Great State Park! (like most of the GA Parks) Relatively new, great access to trails & river for hiking & paddling. RV sites are spacious for easy in an out. Quite, in 3000 Acre tract. About 35 minutes to Newnan movie theater should you be crazy from too much rain!!
