We particularly enjoyed the two mile walk to neighboring Butteville via the wooded trail alongside the Willamette river. Butteville’s historic general store served great food and the best ice cream we had in Oregon! Highly recommend this campground, another fantastic experience at a Oregon State Park.

Clean, quiet, well cared for State Park. While we didn’t have interaction with the staff, they were present. Bike path along the Willamette River is wonderful. We will definitely be back! PS: Butteville is definitely worth a visit! Small museum, high quality deli, and live music at certain times.

I stayed one night on my way to Mt. Rainier. The facilities were clean and there were ample trash and recycling services. Both ice and wood was available for purchase. The path along the river is very green and refreshing. It was nice to have showers available.

Champoeg State Park has a lot to offer, not only nice camping loops, but also paved biking trails, wooded hiking trails, large disc golf course, and backs up to the Willamette River. The B loop has plenty of RV/Travel Trailer spots, some with full hook-ups, and a few pull throughs. We really love this campground. While A and B loop offer spots for both RV/Trailers and tents, the B loop has Cabins and A loop has Yurts. The disc golf course has lots of giant oak trees to make the course a challenge for everyone. The paved walking and biking trails through out the entire park gives you plenty of area to explore. If you have a chance, stop at the Visitor Center at the entrance of the park to view some of Champoeg's cool history. Make sure to book your trip early, this park fills up quickly.

We're used to smaller, quieter camping but we just needed a place to stay on our way to northern Washington, and this was fine. The grounds are well tended but so brown and dry this time of year. We had a little shade later in the evening. There is no privacy but there is enough space for big trailers with slide-outs, I would say. The park was full and there were quite a few noisy campers. The bathroom was fine, the showers were great. Plenty of areas to walk the dogs. There was no one in the check-in booth but there was a list of names with your space number. Reserve early, in mid-June I got the last site available for our stay on August 1. Our plain ol' US Cellular had intermittent service but we don't use a booster and it's not important to us.

Bring your canopy tho, shade is not the brst thing about this park. It has reliable power, good water and large campfire rings. Picnic table was in god shape and the site was cleaned by park hosts before we arrived. There is not a lot of privacy here as the vegetation between sites is thin, but where that is not the best, it makes up for in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
The interpretive center has a large community garden, shop, and an old barn which is a popular wedding venue in this area. Lots of bike riding, frisbee golf, and walking paths. The surrounding area is rolling farm land with every thing from grapes to corn and cabbage. The noisiest thing I heard all week was a farm tractor pulling a pro-till off in the distance one morning.
Showers and bathrooms were clean, worked well and closed from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. All showers are single locking rooms that are ADA and family friendly. The have a shower stall with bench and a changing area with bench, sink, and toilet. (A loop anyway).
Firewood is $5 on-site. There are also yurts and hiker camping. Pet friendly as well. Our spot backed up to an open slough that was nice to look at.
Internet was 100% soled with no slowdowns at peak times.

While we preferred the B-loop we stayed in the A-loop with partial hookup. Both RV loops were nice.
We were able to get some work done during our visit thanks to good cell service. Speed test download: AT&T was 70.4 mbps and Verison was 20.44 mbps.
We will be back to finish exploring this park and everything there is to do.

Great kid and dog friendly campground.
Off leash dog area, park for the kids, walking, hiking, bike paths. Park staff super friendly and laid back. Sites in A loop more shaded than B.
