Stayed here for only one night on our way over to the Oregon Coast. We stayed in the B Loop. The sites in the B Loop were spread further out than Loop A. There was very little privacy where we stayed, but thats fine since it was only 1 night. What was kind of shocking is that nothing was being watered in the area. The grassy areas ... more

“Great State Park Close to Portland and the Willamette Valley Wineries”

A large state historical area, Champoeg State Park has a wonderful campground that is situated along the Willamette River and is at the front door of Oregon’s Willamette Valley winery area. The paved sites in the B-Loop where we stayed all appeared large and many had FULL hook-ups. The bathhouse and showers were clean and modern.... more

Love, love, love this campground. We stayed at 7 state parks in Oregon over 6 weeks, and this was my favorite. Our site was B34, and an end site, so we had a large side lot for our toddler to run around in. There is a natural playground in the campground which was a hit. The best part of the park for us was the 4 miles of paved (relati... more

“Our favorite launch trip for Spring Camping!”

Living in the Beaverton/Portland area, Champoeg is our favorite first trip of the year. Leave after traffic on a Friday, fly down in 35 minutes, set-up and have fire going by 8PM. If you love disc golf, bring your gear. Also, there is an awesome natural playground that kids up to 10-12 will LOVE. Camp hosts are awesome, and crowd g... more

We stayed 2-weeks at this state park, when visiting the Portland area. We really enjoyed the natural beauty, the walking trail along the Willamette River and the proximity to wine country and downtown Portland. All of the Park Rangers and campground hosts were extremely nice. Many of the sites in Loop B are big rig friendly (i.e., fewe... more

We stayed at this park for one night in a camper van. Most sites have water and electricity, a few also have sewer. Also a few walk-in tent sites. Stayed here the end of May 2015 during the week as it was the closest park to an event I was attending.
