“Clean, quiet, convenient!”

We spent our very first week as full-time Airstreamers here. We wanted to stay somewhere our first week that was in a familiar area and as we lived in San Marcos previously, one city over from Escondido, this spot did the trick. Target, Walmart, Albertsons, Home Depot, Camping World, REI and any other retail you could need are all with... more

I suffered a stroke, and needed a place to recover. I only lost my eyesight so this was a perfect place, due to family being nearby. They had no place available for long-term, but the owner made me a site overlooking the creek by his maintenance yard. What a great site! I have no neighbors, other than wildlife, and frogs! I’m a... more

“Beautiful park in the hills”

Reviewed Apr 27, 2017

Overall Rating

This RV park is best described as "sprawling" -- it is spread out across the side of a mountain. This gives it a very isolated feel, despite there being a lot of RV in the park. We got a spot near the top of the hill, so we had an amazing view of sunsets and hills. The freeway noise is a bit louder than expected, but not horrib... more

“So very quiet”

Reviewed Jan 27, 2016

Overall Rating

We left a nearby, very highly rated park, because we knew from past experience that it would be way too noisy for our taste over New Year's Eve - in spite of their constantly patrolling security! This, our second stay at Champagne Lakes, was just what we hoped for. Very peaceful! We stayed in one of the upper, newer levels that prov... more

“A lesson to be learned here, Cal State Parks!”

Reviewed Jul 03, 2015

Overall Rating

We've been looking for a park 'less-lively' on the weekends in the Temecula area than where we usually stay. I'd read reviews that this park had been seriously renovated. It really has. We stayed in one of the upper levels. Full sun exposure (unlike the sites nestled in the valley) but also no satellite interference. In our area, ... more
