We just needed a couple nights stay on the way to South Dakota. Our first BLM experience. Yes, it is washboard road for 3 1/2 miles but that still was not the worse of this experience.
The good: the natural beauty, the flowing stream. The structures on some of the campsites are newer; the quiet aside from gunshots from the neighbors.
The bad: neighbors shooting their pew pew (this is forbidden in the campground); bullet holes in the sign as you come into the campground. Someone who appears to be living out of their van at one of the sites: their entire site was full of “stuff” and tarps hanging. One of the newer picnic tables literally had a huge burned hole through it and the wooden guards to protect the site looked like someone took an ax to it.
We walked to the nearby Buffaloberry campground and both bathroom doors had bullet holes through them.
This could be a an awesome great place if the grounds were kept up and keep out those who don’t appreciate the beauty of BLM land.

There is a 7 mile washboard road to get to the park. It is 15 miles out from Casper. We were the only RV there. There was a van at one site.
The site is very nice, has new appearing structures, grills are top notch. Quiet and scenic.

Nice and close to Casper but nice and quite. Good fishing when water is up. Occasionally stray feral cat so look out.

Arrived in the late evening, plenty of sites to pick from. Clean campground and bathrooms. Enjoyed the river and surrounding wildlife. Only stayed one night, was very quiet and peaceful.

The campsites were clean, Loved the covered tables (3), And the bathrooms were clean. I recommend it, Especially if you like to fish since a river runs through it. There are two other camping areas along the same road so you’ll have lots of choices.

A beautiful, quiet and peaceful place to camp. We stayed one night, just passing thru. Only 2 other campers in the campground. It was very hot, and a little buggy! But watching the wildlife in the evening and early morning was a nice plus. Verizon cell signal was almost nothing, even with our booster we could not get a decent signal. The road in was a little rough, but we took it easy and it was ok. Only gave 4 stars due to cell coverage.

Great off the road stop. Looks like a great place for fishing. Super easy to find and got there early enough to get a space. We split a space with our uncle and had plenty of room. It looks like it could get busy so get there fairly early to have a spot. Did see a rattle snake dead on the road. Lots of wildlife on the water.

Each campsite has a table and fire ring, some sites have a covered structure over the picnic table. Vault toilets are at the campground, however there is no water and no trash recepticles- pack it in, pack it out. Our site was along the banks of the North Platte River, beautiful site to watch the wildlife. Access to the campground is a well maintained gravel road with washboarding.

Easy on the washboard in - we rattled a few things loose in the trailer! Was not as close to Cody as we like but quiet so weigh the pros and cons. Highly recommend going to Alcova Lake and kayaking Fremont Canyon.
