“Convenient, great views but not quiet”

Reviewed Apr 24, 2019

I would absolutely stay here again as it's really close to Kingman/Interstate 40 and free but wouldn't enjoying staying for more than a couple nights as not a very relaxing spot. It's right off the highway so you can hear traffic. Luckily, there isn't a ton of traffic overnight. There were a lot of people staying here but everyone w... more

“One night stay in beautiful rest area”

Reviewed Feb 27, 2019

We just needed a spot to stay while traveling through. There was one other trailer with us. We pulled up parallel to nearby the vault toilet (which we didn't use so I can't say if it was clean) and had views of the mountains and rocks out our windows. We explored the area and the kids had a blast climbing on the rocks! No one else was ... more

“Small BLM, but worth the stay!”

Reviewed Jan 19, 2019

We stopped here at this BLM for one night. There were a few other rigs and a few cars when we arrived. Not crowded at all and was able to park in our own area and put our slides out. The freeway noise was noticeable, but was expected since we were right off of the highway. No issues and felt safe during our stay. There is some good hik... more

“Small but nice”

This is a small area just off Southbound 93 toward Kingman. The camping area was blocked with a few campers spread out - so stayed along the roadway. Great view. Light traffic noise. Beautiful trails or walking / hiking. Two of the campers let their dogs walk around off leash. Shame on them. The dogs did not stay close to owners - a... more

“Easy overnight spot with cool trails”

Reviewed Dec 05, 2018

Overall Rating

Lots of space and right off the highway, so a bit noisy if that bothers you. Easy to get in and out, just a few potholes. The trails were great and there is a map at the edge of the parking lot with lots of good info. There was a school group camped out in tents in the foothills. The views were amazing! Note-The pit toilet was unusa... more

“Pretty rock formations with hiking/biking trails right out your door”

Reviewed Nov 25, 2018

Overall Rating

Primitive loop site, right off the road, with a pit toilet in the middle. There are miles of hiking/biking trails here. We didn't have time to check them out ourselves, but I talked to a mountain bike group and it seems to be a good place to spend a day riding among the rock formations. There is a lot of road noise here as well. Parkin... more

A few reviewers have stated this area has a gate, fence, and is soon to be day use area only. I live in the local area and while there is a gate and fence this will not become "day use only". The gate is for power company/BLM personnel to access areas that are not open to camping. Foot/horse trails pass through this area behind the gat... more

I spent 4 days at this site and while there I spoke with a BLM employee who was erecting a gate and fence around the road area closing off much of the "camp sites." He told me the BLM will be changing the site sometime in late 2018 to "day use only" and no longer allow overnight camping. While I was there he built a gate and part of a ... more
