Centennial Campground

This was a very inexpensive 50amp electric hookup spot. Sites 1 and 2 are pull throughs, could accommodate any size rig. We had no trouble fitting 32 ft fifth wheel in our spot (#6). RV spots are mostly close to the host spot. Non electric and tent spots around back and the other loops. We felt safe the whole time, there were a few well lived camp spots, but we weren’t close. There is onsite security at the front, not sure if they’re there 24 hrs. Fully operational dump with black flush and potable fill, all threaded hoses.

We arrived with no reservation, and the office told us to make it online or via phone- you can’t pay at the campground. Wi-Fi available- nothing impressive but enough to download a few books. Bathrooms are locked with code , but we didn’t use them. The only negative was the highway noise, but to be expected.

This campground has reopened and is no longer a location for Anchorage's homeless. We found it to be ideal for visiting the city, being only 6 miles from the city center, however the campground is a little run down and most of the sites are closely spaced with only little privacy between them. Road noise from the busy Glenn Highway can be heard throughout the campground, but is reduced to a tolerable level in the sites furthest away from the roadway. Dump station was operational, potable water for refilling our tanks was available, and although no host was on site, security was.

Booked for 3 nights but that’s not gonna happen at this campground!!! Look elsewhere unless you do not plan on using their restrooms…..
