“Google Maps will DO YOU WRONG!”

Quiet, beautiful. Seems like it’s deep in the forest but there’s a Costco (et al.) less five miles away! Late-August lots of mosquitos but last year in mid-September there were none so....Lots of places to walk/hike with our pup - it was nearly deserted when we were there but booked up for Labor Day weekend and apparently it’s busy and quite lovely when the leaves turn color. Apple Maps will get you there but Google maps will try to route you onto a private road. Two miles after you turn onto Cedarville Road, turn right onto Bee Oak (there’s a sign for Cedarville State Forest at the turn) and keep straight until you get to the office. Caught and kindly relocated three mice while we were there. Verizon, 13.3 down and .17 up; ATT 23.5/4.7

“Great, friendly park”

This is our local "get away from it all" spot. There are only electrical hookups (30A) but site 22 is close enough to the water spigot to run a hose to refill. We also use site 20 (usually we camp with friends). Firewood is sold on site. Some of the other campers will be in big groups but the rangers run a tight ship and enforce the quiet hour rules (and parking, so if you have more than 1 visitor they will have to park a mile or so away). It is a little off the beaten path (the DC Beltway). (Greenbelt Park and Cherry Hill Park are much closer to the beltway, but they are at the north - Cedarville is south). There are plenty of trails at the park to enjoy (it is a large forested preserve) and occasional ranger-led programs (owl prowls, etc.). Good cell coverage.
