Great campground! We had an electric site with a water spigot very close which made filling up very easy. Dump station away from campsites, which is also nice. Bathrooms were well kept, closed from 1-3 pm daily for cleaning that includes four toilets and two showers (didn’t use the shower so can’t speak to pressure or heat). The ranger... more

The ranger delivers firewood to your campsite within about 15 min of calling for it. Site 6 would only be good for smaller rigs as there was a tree that could have caused a couple problems had we been any bigger (we have a pop up). Site 5 or 7 would have had larger clearance.

Quiet, beautiful. Seems like it’s deep in the forest but there’s a Costco (et al.) less five miles away! Late-August lots of mosquitos but last year in mid-September there were none so....Lots of places to walk/hike with our pup - it was nearly deserted when we were there but booked up for Labor Day weekend and apparently it’s busy and quite lovely when the leaves turn color. Apple Maps will get you there but Google maps will try to route you onto a private road. Two miles after you turn onto Cedarville Road, turn right onto Bee Oak (there’s a sign for Cedarville State Forest at the turn) and keep straight until you get to the office. Caught and kindly relocated three mice while we were there. Verizon, 13.3 down and .17 up; ATT 23.5/4.7

We also use site 20 (usually we camp with friends). Firewood is sold on site. Some of the other campers will be in big groups but the rangers run a tight ship and enforce the quiet hour rules (and parking, so if you have more than 1 visitor they will have to park a mile or so away). It is a little off the beaten path (the DC Beltway). (Greenbelt Park and Cherry Hill Park are much closer to the beltway, but they are at the north - Cedarville is south). There are plenty of trails at the park to enjoy (it is a large forested preserve) and occasional ranger-led programs (owl prowls, etc.). Good cell coverage.
