It isn't a campground for you if you want a bunch of stuff for your kids to do at the campground but just a nice quiet place. I will definitely be back!

The campground was well kept and clean. the bathrooms were on par with other national park campgrounds with warm showers and were clean. as others have noted, AC power only at the campsite and potable water and dump are located in the campground.

We came here to visit family. It was a great choice. It's 5 miles from Emerald Isle, 11 miles to the Wal-Mart in Swansboro. This was a nice treed campground, lots of grassy areas, paved, walkable roads. There is a wildlife area with a boat ramp and dock, trails and picnic tables, just past the campground. Easy walk from the campground. The bathhouse was clean and easy access to all the campers. Our internet service was excellent and our site was nice and large. There was electric only, but there were water spigots within a short distance of all the campsites. The dump site was good, however there is no water to rinse out your stinky slinky. The potable water is a bit forward of the dump and the hose is in rough shape. We cleaned it well before use, we were betting people would use that one to clean things up. That was truly the only downside. Quiet campground, good hosts. 14 day limit. We did have a lot of big black carpenter ants. Bring some ant killer. It's a little difficult on some gps to locate the exact address. Just follow the signs on VFW Road and turn in at the Croatan National Forest sign. There are campground signs as well, but the National Forest signs are easier to spot.

No water or sewer but water pumps are provided throughout and the dump station is centered to campground, so not far for anyone to get to if needed. We can not provide feedback as far as the bathrooms go because we used our own inside our trailer. The boat/kayak ramp and walking trail is very close (within walking distance from campground or short drive for kayaks/canoes). It is close to town where you will find Lowe’s Foods grocery and Lowe’s Home Improvement store for your basic needs. Just a short drive to the beach and other coastal towns for sightseeing, restaurants, etc. The camp host, Michelle, was super friendly and helpful when/if you needed anything! We enjoyed our stay with our 11 and 13 year olds and look forward to going back again!

Great way to enjoy one of the best beaches in NC in a quiet, low key, shaded environment. We are going back for the third time. Access to great seafood, the Intercoastal Waterway and a wonderful coastal environment. Bring your bug spray and your fan/air conditioner.
