We arrived to find out we camped in a circle with no real room like parking on the street, other campers constantly coming up to your camper, like right next to you. We have camped in National Parks and State parks before, this was absolutely the worst we have been in. My advice is to avoid this camp.

Side-of-the-road camp sites. Don't open your awning as it will extend into the road. Saw a lot of sites that were muddy and some had standing water in them. Bad situation for tent campers as there are no tent pads to put a tent. Just pitch your tent in the grass.
I think there are only 20 sites that have electric.
I'd rather stay at a private campground, which I abhor, then this place. Our friends stayed at Badlands Lodge and Campground 1.5 miles away after they found out the electric site they booked at Cedar Pass in Feb, didn't exist. Overbooked by Aramark. Much nicer place with full hook ups.

Cedar Pass Campground is a great basecamp to explore the Badlands National Park. The campground's location within the Park would be the only reason for camping here. The campsite is a narrow parallel pad, with 30 amp hookup, picnic table, and small shelter. Water and restrooms were nearby, the shower facility was located at the far side of the campground. The showers were warm, clean, and cost 50 cents for 4 minutes. We received 4-bars of coverage with Verizon. The campground does have nice views of the Badlands landscape.

We did not stay the night here but we used the water fill station! The water took a while to fill our RV because there was a few holes in the hose, but it did the job! There’s also a $1 donation box! Make sure you contribute as a thank you for free use of potable water and dump!
- there is a dump station, but we didn’t need to use it

You are right in the National Park with great views and that is where the positives stopped for us. You reserve a site online but they do no assign an actual spot, you get to "pick" your site when you get there. We arrived and checked in, the guy at the check-in station told us good luck finding an electric site(even though we reserved one for an appropriate length) that would work for our 5th wheel. We managed to find a single site that we barely squeezed into. The sites themselves are basically a pull off on the side of the road so our stairs opened onto the road.
The bathroom nearest us had the women's sinks bagged off and out of order. The showers were coin operated(surprising since you are paying $40 a night to stay at a place with no water hookups). Of the 4 available showers, 2 of them were out of order and another one ate my quarters. They did not last the amount of time they stated, the water was ice cold, and the pressure was so high it was painful. When we went to use the dump station(which had no flush hookup) there was also a box for a $1 charge to use it. After paying $40 for an electric pulloff and to take a ice cold shower I can't believe they also wanted to charge to dump. We would not stay at this park again, there were multiple outside the park that had full hookups and looked nicer.

We were told that we could get a refund at the park lodge. The lodge told us that the overbooking has been a problem ever since Aramark bought out the prior park concessionaire. Apparently 50 electric sites are offered online for booking even though only 5 actually exist. Fortunately Badlands Interior Campground is only 2 miles from the park campground. We were able to get full hookups for the same rate.

The electric sites were a godsend the week I camped here, when unseasonably temperatures hovered around 100 degree most of the week.
The campground d is close to the town of Ibtwrior, the visitor center, and most of the formal hiking trails in the park.
Other reviews point out the odd layout and lack of privacy.

Beautiful location with crowded campsites and no privacy. It’s a jumping off location to see the park. The campground staff was great. I had some headlamps stolen off of our picnic table when out sightseeing. Too crowded and lights from surrounding buildings disturb the night skies.

Afternoon sun was intense but our awning helped. Some of the sites are pull off on the wrong side so your door won’t open to your campsite. I have included a campground map with arrows drawn in to help folks choose the best side for them. Shower house has a very loud exhaust fan that you will hear in nearby sites. There is a big clean dishwashing sink with hot water. Dark sky program each night at the amphitheater within walking distance. The heat during the day was tough but it really was beautiful in the evening and early morning. So many stars! We were able to sleep with the back of the van open.

“Take a pass on Cedar Pass”
noted 6/21/2023
We booked an electric site on February 2023 and arrived , June 21, 2023 for our reservation. We were told there were no electric sites left. We were also told we had booked a non-electric site. I showed them the reservation confirmation from February to show them that was not true. We could not stay without electric and could not believe the incompetence of the Cedar Pass outfit. They said that had overbooked - if so why did they not alert the people with reservations. Truly unbelievable since this is the contracted vendor for the National Park. If you already have a reservation I would suggest you double check that it matches what Cedar Pass has for you..... I really would recommend you not stay at the campground until they figure out how to manage their reservation system. I would not trust what you are told when you call. Thankfullly, the people at the check-in booth did point us to a private campground only two miles down the road - Badlands Motel and Campground. It truly is less than two miles from the entrance to the National Park, is clean, has electric and water for less than we were being charged at Cedar Pass.

This campground has a dump station with rinse and potable water as well as a garbage bin. The sign says $1 but they told me it is free when I spoke to them at the entrance. Great option for anyone boondocking nearby.
