“Quiet, gorgeous, boondocking gem!!”

We have a 28' class A Winnebago and were a little nervous on the single track roads surrounding this camp ground. The roads were in good condition and paved until we go to the official entrance to the camp ground, then the roads were gravel with some pot holes and low hanging branches to navigate...perfectly doable at low speed. WARNING ⚠️ UNLESS YOU ARE IN A HIGH CLEARANCE VEHICLE, THE ONLY OPTION FOR RVs IS TO TAKE THE RIGHT FORK JUST PAST THE PAY STATION. Shortly after the road comes to an open field lined with trees at the New Rivers edge. There are a few campgrounds here suitable for RVs or you can continue on to the right to find more spots alongside the river. We were here on a Saturday in August and there were only 2 other families tent camping. There are beautiful tree covered mountains all around and there are fire rings/picnic tables dotted here and there too. Note: there are no onsite camp attendants, pay fees via lock box and would not be advisable during very wet times as could be muddy. We walked down the left fork and there was another campground and boat ramp about 0.75 miles on. The roads at the bottom were muddy, rutted and there were only a few camping spots although they were right on the rivers edge and well shaded.
