I was on a long road trip so I wasn’t able to explore more. I had reservations since not sure what time I would arrive. Nice level back in spot with 30 amp hookup. Quiet camp, spacing was good. I’d like to spend more time in the area.

My daily rate was for NV non-resident with 120VAC service.
Compared to 4 years ago Wi-Fi signal service was better but still not cheap at $8 for 24-hours. There is no longer a free two hour option on arrival . . . and you must sign-up to the service provider* - - - more useless login names and passwords - - -
Feb-2020 was a dry month so I could do a lot of BLM lands adventuring using the SP as my base. Feb-2024 is a wet month (remember the 6 Pineapple Expresses hitting the west coast) so there was mud/snow to deal with. Still had a nice visit bike riding and relaxing by a wood fire.
*an that company sent endless junk emails, finally had to cancel then re-signup for this visit.

We have a 36’ Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site 23 for 3 days in early May. The CG is 1st come, 1st served, and very small, just 22 sites - some sites are small and some will accommodate larger RVs. All of the sites were occupied when we arrived, but there are two dry overflow areas you find out about after cruising the CG, and two ADA sites that can be occupied if all of the other sites are taken (Last to Fill rule), so we ended up in one of those. We try not to use ADA sites, but didn’t really have any other options. The CG and overflow areas stayed full while we were here, even mid-week. There are 2 showers in the bathhouse by the ADA sites, which are coin operated, so have a quarter ready for each 5 minutes, but you’ll lose the first minute waiting for the water to get acceptably hot. Not sure if the other bathhouse is coin operated too or not. The shower spray is acceptable, but the nozzle could stand some cleaning to produce a better spray. There are a couple of nice trails in the park as well.
AT&T coverage was marginal, with 2-3 Bars of 5GE service, but speeds only up to about 0.8 MB/s. There were only a few tall trees, but none obscuring our view to the North or SW, so we were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. We didn’t use the CG WiFi as we had an unobstructed view to the North and so had great Starlink coverage, with speeds up to 18 MB/s. We didn’t try the OTA antenna.

This is a cozy little campground, laid out around a circle with incredible views in all directions. Most of the sites are back-ins, although a few are pull-throughs. Some of the sites are only large enough for a van, car, or pickup camper. There is a dry camping overflow option if the campground is full. Out-of-state campers pay $5 extra (even though our state doesn’t charge Nevada residents an extra fee). Miles and miles of walking trails with endlessly spectacular views. This was our fourth visit to this other-worldly place.

We had planned to only stay one night passing through. We decided to stay an extra day, because it was so nice and beautiful. I think it’s great for families and adventurers of all ages. There are several easy trails that meander through the desert vegetation and up on the ridge lines, where you can also spend time walking around large rock castle islands and explore many slot canyons. With no big cities nearby, the night skies are amazing. All very interesting for kids. Near the group site, there is a park with a large area of manicured green grass (bring your frisbee), a tether ball, and a horseshoe pit. The rest rooms and showers are sparkling clean. The picnic tables are veranda shaded. There are sites of varying sizes: some for tents and a few pull throughs for bigger rigs. All sites have electric, but cold water can be pumped at several spigots around the park. Highly recommend this park.

First come first served campground surrounded by picturesque “cathedral “ rock formations. Quiet. Site had been raked prior to arrival. Electric, no water, dump station at entrance. Encountered many moths with over 50 coming out the next day in our motorhome!

Scenery of the cathedral rock formations are beautiful..walk right up to them. Sites are spacious and relatively level. Heard #10 is most level. Good Verizon service and Viasat internet available for a fee. Showers and restrooms clean. Our site had been raked prior to first come arrival. Quiet folks around but very friendly. We have the NV senior pass, so only pay $10/nite for 30amp hook up. Dump station at entrance. Water available but you will need a female 3/4 inch pipe thread to male 3/4 hose thread to connect. Water located at various areas in park. There is overflow parking too.

we noticed a major, major problem.
We noticed both trips, here, really foul air in the Mornings. Then it was for 24 hours. The skies are not blue, they are dull grey.
Fnally we figured it out. The pollution from Las Vegas : 2 + hours away, is blowing directly here! And
it's constantly blowing in, with a strong wind. Same direction winds from South West.
We pulled air cleaners from storage - that we normally only use in polluted cities. The air cleaners
automatically went to the dirtiest air settings!
We were miserable here. Too bad, this seems to be what we are seeing in many Western campgrounds, the increasing polluting of America! With no end in site.
