Dusty dirt washboard road, windy, but awesome. Great views of the sierras and white mountains. 2 bars of T-Mobile LTE

Definitely don't take the Google-suggested route but take 5-Bridges Road and Jean Blanc road, driving through the Granite Construction Co. straight onto Casa Diablo Mine road. Part washboard, other parts deep sand, but with problem with no rain. Since three or four obvious and easy-to-access sites where already taken when we passed by we have been close to just stop and stay as close to one side as possible on a level stretch. But then found a large enough drive-in site accommodating our 39ft Class A plus toad. Had to unhook the tow dolly to back out again when we left. But the views, the dark sky and the great remoteness of the area have been worth it. We'll be back!
Please respect the signs of BLM asking visitors to not access certain areas or camp in spots where vegetation recovers.
As always, we collected some trash (please do the same). Did not find much, just a few bottle caps, two or three cans.

Quite a few spots were already taken on a Thursday night, but I kept driving and was able to find one that was the perfect size for my car. There’s only around 5 spots for RV’s And really only 1 Site for a large RV but tent camping and a smaller RV will fit in a couple spots.
It’s been pretty windy here but the snow capped Sierras look amazing. Very useable cell service and close to town for resuppling.
It’s easy to get to, but there’s washboard roads of course. 😯
