While exploring the Iron Mountain area Memorial Day Weekend (this was Sunday) I came across this campground after a 5-mile drive on a dirt road. The road was plenty wide with only a few washboard patches and lots of headroom. There were folks in there with 30-foot trailers. Being so close to the Wisconsin border it was a good mix of Yoopers and Cheeseheads. One good ol boy from Iron Mountain felt the need to approach me and ask if I had a problem but after I explained I was admiring his mud-encrusted monster trucks he chilled out. The campground was one big oval with the registration area at the far right end. There were no more envelopes when I arrived so I just wrote the information on a piece of paper and figured that would do. Sites 1-8 or so are on the lake. The remaining sites are set back but perfectly nice. There was a hand water pump next to the registration booth. As is typical, some trash was left in the fire rings but overall the campground was worth the trek. No cell signal to be had.
