“Beautiful Place”

I stayed at the campground as part of a workamping assignment. I worked at the Heceta Head Lighthouse in exchange for a campsite. Hence the $0 charge. I loved the campground. It's so peaceful. There is a trail from the campground to the beach (1 mile round trip) and to Heceta Head (6 miles round trip). The bathrooms and showers were kept clean. I would most definitely stay here again. Sites are roomy.

There is only two negatives. First, no service at all. Even with boosters. But a 5 mile drive down the road and you are connected. Sometime people have luck across the street at the day-use parking lot as well. The other negative is that the bathrooms and shower are not heated. Probably most of the year it isn't a big deal. But it was COLD in December. The showers are nice and hot, but getting in and out was a bit rough.

“Nice campground. Beach walks awesome.”

Like many of the Oregon State Park campgrounds, this has good facilities. Washburne has for some reason disconnected most of the sewer connections at sites, but otherwise everything was good. There is a dump station across the highway at the day use area.
Beach access from the campground is a little longer than some, but there is a half mile trail through the forest under a bridge so one doesn’t need to risk crossing the highway on foot.
No cell service.
