“A good place to camp close to Carcross, but there is road noise.”

We camped here 8/2/22.
This campground felt exactly like a typical Yukon campground (large primitive sites, table, fire ring, pit toilets, trash, and free firewood), but managed by the Carcross/Taglish First Nations.
There are just 14 sites, but it doesn't look like it is a very used campground. 14 sites, large back in sites, fairly level, with some road noise, and an easy walk into the cute town of Carcross. A sign was posted that we were able to get 20L of water at the treatment plant in town.
We had trouble finding this campsite. I contacted Campendium and they changed the coordinates, hopefully making it easier to find. It is sandwiched between Highway 2 (South Klondike Highway) and Highway 8 (Taglish Road), making it a bit noisy mostly from Taglish Road. There is access to Airport Road from Highway 8 (Taglish Road), but there is no direct access to Airport Road from Highway 2 (South Klondike Highway). Driving south on Highway 2, go past the airport and make a left once you see buildings with totem poles. This access road leads you to Airport Road (which is unmarked) north of the airport to the campground.
There are some single track mountain bike trails at Montana Mountain Bike Park that are well marked and fun to ride. We rode from the campground to Carcross, then across a pedestrian/bike bridge to the trails.

We camp here every summer to enjoy one of our favorite areas in the Yukon. Carcross is a cute little village with one of the nicest beach in the Yukon, beautiful hiking trails and world-class mountain biking trails. The campground is located right by the village in a wooded area. The sites are very large and free wood is provided. Big picnic tables, fire rink and hot houses. There is no water in the campground, but you can go fill your jugs at the RV park in town. You can also dump and fill there for $10. There is a corner store in the village, but no grocery store, so make sure to stock up in Whitehorse before you come! Excellent Bell 4G LTE coverage.
