This spot worked great for seeing Capitol Reef. The VC was only 15 minutes away. The access off the highway was rough. No highway noise late at night. My only complaint is with other users coming in late at night. They leave their headlights on bright shining directly at other campers while setting up.

Easy access from highway just outside the park. Lots of room, great views and hikes from campsite. Good for RVs and tents. Bit rough but take it slow. Fills up fast.

East of Torrey UT you will find 3 options for dispersed camping. Beas Lewis Flat, Pandora's Box and Capital Reef Overflow. Due to our length of rig, we chose Capital Reef Overflow (as many others did as well) but Beas Lewis Flat (which is a hugh dispersed area) would have worked equally as well. As we are touring the National Parks in this area, we came from Bryce Canyon. Hint: There is "NO" grocery store in Torrey UT. We had to travel back to "Loa" UT to "Food & Town" to provision up. (17 miles one way). While in the Capital Reef area we'd suggest stopping at the Visitor Center in Torrey. Very friendly and informational. They suggested traveling the Burr Canyon Trail which starts South of Torrey on Hwy 12 at Boulder. Great place for lunch at "Hells Backbone Grill". The Burr Trail consists of 75 miles of good paved road that drops you down into a beautiful, red rock canyon. Oh my, breathtaking. The trail eventually turns to a gravel/dirt road that is well maintained and easily traveled in a two wheel drive vehicle. But, it's "wash-boardie" in places so we moved a little faster to smooth out the bumps. Capital Reef scenic drive is a must with a short film at the visitors center. There's much to do while in this area and we'll definitely be back again.

We camped here for one night after visiting Capitol Reef. Very easy access and great location. Super close to the park! Very popular but we found a very secluded spot in the shelter of rocks. Fire pit was already there!

39’ 5th wheel. No problem getting in and situated…just watch out for the hazing rocks on the way in. Many sites but pretty busy so best to get there early in the day (especially in big rig). Stunning scenery and hiking trail right out of the campground (Meeks Mesa). SO easy to get to Capitol Reef NP. Some road noise.

Overall had a solid experience here, arrived on a Wednesday night and it was reasonably full but still able to find a half decent spot. Getting something level here is tricky, and you'll likely have to push your comfort zone to get your rig settled to a reasonable point, but on the bright side that also scares a lot of folks off - I saw MANY people arrive, decide they couldn't get level, and leave. Neighbors were friendly and quiet in the evenings.
Location for exploring Capitol Reef can't get better, you're right down the street from the National Park sign. I grabbed water at the Fruita campground, and also used the dump station there - $5 self serve. They've got dumpsters for trash as well. There are 2 porta potties at this camp spot, but I can't attest to their cleanliness.
Cell service was superb, 15-20mbps down, 5mbps up on T-Mobile/ATT. Worked off cell here with no issue.
Its a bit rocky at the beginning of the entrance, but I can't imagine anyone having an issue with the entrance so long as you're not blasting in full speed. Theres a dip beginning to form as you leave pavement and pull into this area, its not bad, just be aware. The spectacular sunsets here never got old. It was very clean, lets all work together to keep it that way.

The area right after you turn off 24 is pretty rocky but we went up, to the right, and then around into the campground to avoid the patch of rocks. There were plenty of fifth wheels and TTs as well as sedans and other vans. Just take it super slow and be careful of ruts if you’re gonna go further back or up onto the hills for a more picturesque spot. We were happy with our decently level spot in the middle of the campground.
It was super windy here so we didn’t get to sit outside much. You’re super close to Capitol Reef and town is close by too.

Great location on the way to Capitol Reef. It’s one big open area that had a decent amount of people. Pretty good signal and porta potties available for your use.
