We’ve stayed her for the second time. This is one of the cleanest campgrounds I’ve been to. Location is perfect to spent time at the ocean as it’s in walking distance.
Some of the sites are more private than others.

The beach doesnt have much sand but the rocks are smooth and at low time there is a sand bar to swim from. Comox is a great little town with a great vibe, good restaurants and located close to many things to do. It's also cooler on the ocean than inland so the 90 degree heat wave was really 82 and plenty of shade to sit outside in our grassy spot. Campground was spotless too.

We spent a wonderful 3 months (January- March) during the covid winter of 2021 at this campground in Site 21 which has splendid views of the ocean. The campground is well laid out and is extremely well maintained by the family owners, who are very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent you can walk directly from the campground along a high level beach path to Point Holmes or along the beach itself. At low tide the other direction offers a walk to Goose Spit. The amenities on site are also very well thought out an example of this is the recycling policy. Which like a lot of campgrounds splits the recycling into refundable and non-refundable items. The difference being that the refund is donated to a local charity. Wifi is the best we’ve ever experienced camping we got download speeds of upto 30mbps and upload of 15mbps ..... added bonus it’s free for all your devices. We streamed from our Amazon fire stick with no issues. The electrical, water and sewer systems are robust and we had no issues. The laundry has new fast and efficient equipment and there is a lodge but it was not open during our stay due to Covid restrictions. Courtney and Comox have lots of amenities including big box stores like Costco and Amazon will deliver directly to your site.

It is a pretty windy area however. The campground is very well-maintained and pretty new. Coin-operated showers, laudromat open 24-7 on the premises. Large pavilion with open fireplace on both sides. The grocery store in Comox is only 8 minutes away. The Wifi was good enough for work and there is 2 bars 4G LTE of Bell.

“BE FOREWARNED!”
noted 4/22/2023
In fairness I couldn’t rate our experience lower as we never actually had the opportunity to experience the campsite but instead needed to cancel our reservation; but our rating seems to resonate with that of others.
Cape Lazo do outline their cancellation policy online, however regardless, I feel it appropriate to dock them one star because of their inflexibility and lack of willingness to consider individual circumstances.
Be FOREWARNED when booking to read the extensive cancellation conditions. They will be RIGIDLY enforced.
We booked Jan 03, 2023 for a stay spanning either side of the May ‘23 long weekend.
As a result of changed personal circumstances, on March 05, 2023 we needed to cancel our reservation.
Despite this being more than 10 weeks prior to the May long weekend Cape Lazo management were rigid in levying the non-refundable long weekend penalty and charged us $195.30. Following the exchange of a number of emails they remained firm in their position.
They are within the conditions of their cancellation policy hence the 4 star rating, but as it is highly likely they will secure a subsequent booking being over 10 weeks away from the long weekend, applying a level of flexibility would have been appropriate, but was not forthcoming.
