“Roadside pullout, but owned by a Corporation”
Reviewed Jul 05, 2015
We pulled off here and spent a few days. It is a large gravel lot just off the highway about a mile past the Cantwell junction. We saw no trespassing signs, but we figured that was for the land beyond the gravel lot. It was not until the final day (day 5) that we were informed that that gravel lot required a permit to camp.
Even though the view was fantastic, looking right back into the Denali National Park, and the sound of the creek passing through the beaver dam, we decided to go ahead and leave. There is Chulitna Wayside about 25 miles south that also allows free camping in established sites with table, trash, and toilets.
I recommend a visit to the Jack River pullout, as the view is worth it, but move on to the Wayside for any overnight.
