We found this campground on campendium. The location is perfect. Close to town and national forest. The owner is very friendly and laid back. Plenty of room for whatever camping device you have.

If you use Starlink, be sure and mention it when making a reservation and they will book you in a site with a view of the northern sky. I did not make mention and sl was obstructed from my site but the camp wifi was one of the best we have used. It was adequate for our work. We were there at the end of the season and the park was only about half full.

This is a hidden gem. Small park with about 28 sites, but we’ll maintained and on the river. Very quiet. The owner appears to be very laid back, but continually making improvements.

We started on site 18 but when we decided to stay an extra day we moved to site 17. Both were level pull-through with full hook ups. Being so close to the river means that mosquitoes are here but manageable. We did not use the laundry. The camp WiFi is strong. We were able to stream Netflix on our laptop. Not a lot of cell service in this little canyon.

It’s a beautiful spot in every way! We arrived later in October so Al was fixin’ to close down for the winter but we were thrilled to stay even for one night. I suspect it’s a difficult place to get into in the summer!
Wi-fi was just okay but we have a Verizon jet pack that allowed to do anything we needed.

50 amp, full service.
A good place to stay if you are taking a ride on the Cumbres & Toltec scenic railroad.
I would definitely stay here again.

From the moment he met us at the site as we arrived and helped us to back in and get settled, we knew we were in a special place. The setting is beautiful, along the Conejos River. Dark sky country, you can see the Milky Way at night. Some great motorcycle riding roads in the area.
It's a ways out from the town of Antonito, and we work full time, so cellular connectivity was a little bit of an issue. We got by, but barely. If you don't have to be connected for work, or have enough tech to boost the signal and pick a clear campsite, you could be OK. That did not detract from the experience - we'd stay here again.

Always seeking the ideal climate, and needing to catch up on laundry and getting packages delivered, this fit the bill for both in late August/early September. The park is adjacent to a river, which was more of a creek due to lack of snow/rain the preceding seasons, and the sites are nicely spaced out around a loop with some trees between. The tent sites where I stayed, and sites 21 - 24, are on the exit road from the main loop, and while the first tent site was fine I wouldn't recommend the second one or those 4 full hookup sites as they are the most tightly packed in the park.
Unfortunately the shower wasn't operational, which seems to be the new norm, but the single washer and dryer were available with only a donation requested. The only downside is the park owner has several free roaming dogs, all very friendly, but a dog's gonna doo what a dog's gonna doo. I can't say for sure, but this may encourage other park guests to not clean up after their dogs either.
The park sits on County Road D.5 which is partially paved and partially washboard packed dirt. If you come from the south, as I did, ignore your navigation to turn right on the first access point to the road and wait for the next right so you can stayed on paved surfaces.

We LOVED Canon Bonito RV & Fisherman’s Club. Al is a super host and he has created a laid back place where you can fly fish if you want (we did not) or do nothing if you'd like (we did a whole lot of nothing). Our spot was set off by itself which was extra nice. But if you have a group Al can set you up in a cluster of spots for a neat little community too. Just tell him what you're looking for and he will do his best to accommodate you. The amenities here are fairly spartan, but that's understandable given the setting. this is a place to get away. The Conejos River is a short walk from your campsite, yet far enough away we didn't notice any bug problem in late July. Morning temps were low 50's and then we had mid 70's in the afternoon. It's small, so call early to reserve a spot. Antonito has a nice grocery and Alamosa is less than an hour away if you need to hit up a Walmart or other major retailer.

We arrived after 8 and they had a white board near the entrance with our name and site number so we could get set up and and just pay in the morning. All the sites were spacious with a lot of Aspen and maybe cottonwood trees. There’s a beautiful river running along the campground. We arrived on a rainy day but there was plenty of gravel so no trouble with ruts or mud. It was very quiet and peaceful and everyone we encountered was very friendly. There’s a shower house and a washer dryer set up. Full hook ups and good wifi. We would stay there again.
