Beautiful site. Off Road G just west of milepost 6, look for road to the north with cattle guard. Gate was closed so we closed it behind us. Road signed “private property stay on road” and goes for 1 mile before reaching BLM property and sign that it is Road 4526. Road rough. Camped almost immediately at a large private site on the right surrounded by giant dark rock.
Fern would stay here again

Overall, a good place to meander to considering there isn’t much else around that’s free, and you don’t want to spend another night in a Walmart parking lot in a nearby town.

“Desert Mesa surrounded by dynamic rock formations with views of Ute Mountain to the southeast.”

The road to the site is quite rocky with a few 50' sections that have chunky rutted out sections. There is also a 90 degree rocky turn at pitch. We drive a 4Runner with a 19' trailer and made it with a bit of bouncing...but ultimately it was worth it. I don't know if anything bigger could have made the drive without a bit of damage.
