Caprock is a very special place that I want to come back and explore. There are several great trails, that I only enjoyed on the map :), and a scenic drive around the park which I did get to enjoy! – CarlaMowell

This is a really great place to camp. They have so much to offer. A large Lake for fishing, a beach for swimming, two playgrounds, hiking trails, cabins to rent, a clubhouse to rent for parties and quite a few Geocashes hidden in the park. – Aviatrjim

lower-crooked-river
Lower Crooked River – Prineville, OR

Due to time of year, we did not see another soul for our stay, other than fellow fly fishermen. The Crooked River is a must see for its ancient walls. It’s a geologists dream. – Justbreezinalong

valley-of-fire-west

We woke to beautiful desert views and could have stayed the day if we weren’t eager to get to Zion. Would be easy to explore Valley of Fire from here or just catch up on restadmin. – Meg and Ben

hawn-state-park

We are parked next to a lovely bubbling spring and are enjoying the wind in the pines. There are also a few walk in sites that look great for tenters. The hiking is wonderful. Rocky sandstone bluffs over Pickle Creek. – Laura Montgomery

There is a lake for canoeing of fishing and another one for swimming. All in all I love this place. – Jeff R.

minersville-lake-park
Minersville Lake Park – Minersville, UT

We were the only ones at the park. It was incredibly clean and appeared to be very well maintained. We were really happy with our decision. So although the lake itself is rather small and not the most scenic of places we have stayed, the park provided us with exactly what we had hoped to find. A quiet and clean place to rest for the night. – backroadbennetts

doheny-state-beach
Doheny State Beach – Dana Point , CA

Most of the beach camping in Southern California is pricey, so we expected the price tag on this one — and expected the lack of amenities. But we were thrilled to be so close to the water with a great spot for our kids to run around in the sand. – Jon

twin-lakes-view
Twin Lakes View – Twin Lakes, CO

One of the most scenic boondocking spots I’ve camped in. The views looking out over the lakes and Independence Pass are super sexy. I love this area and its one of my favorite spots in Colorado. Don’t forget your fishing pole, kayak, hiking shoes…there is a lot to do here. – Chris

We were quite surprised to be the only campers each night in our secluded campground. We loved the silence, the darkness and only our own distorted firelight shadows on the clusters of boulders surrounding us. – Michael & Imkelina
