5 Star Campground Reviews – November 2017

Magnolia Beach – Port Lavaca, TX

We were here in mid October and were a little worried since Hurricane Harvey passed through this area in late August — but we arrived to a clean, open beach with very little evidence of the storm. – Wanderland Travelers


Village Creek State Park – Wynne, AR

The park is also large and offers many family activities such as tennis, fishing and hiking trails. Very Nice State Park in a Beautiful Part of Arkansas. – gladu2


The Point RV Park – Ashland, OR

The campground is located close to Ashland and overlooking Emigrant lake. The sites have nice spacing between them and all seem to have views of the lake. Will definitely stay there again. – Jskflyfisher


San Luis State Wildlife Area – Hooper, CO

You can’t beat the views of the mountains and the prairie. Super dark at night except for the glow of the stars and the moon. – StoryChasing


Sacramento Pass Recreation Area – Ely, NV

It is unbelievable that this is a free site. It’s cleaner and better maintained than many paid campgrounds. – ashley


Lewis & Clark State Recreation Area – Yankton, SD

This South Dakota state park is my favorite because almost every site has an amazing view of the lake and the bluffs on the other side. – Jen & John


Cloudland Canyon State Park – Rising Fawn, GA

We’ve been to many of the state parks in Georgia and we’ve just discovered our new favorite. What makes this park so amazing is the hiking! WOW! – thecrazygoodlife


Willow Tree – Golden Valley, AZ

We have a spot right on the water with a little cove. No one else here. Great stars, very dark and quiet. – The Traveling Together Journal


Bonneville Salt Flats – Wendover, UT

What we found was peace and serenity still within sight of I-80 in the distance several miles away, with a stunning backdrop. – Grand Adventure


Texas Rapids – LaCrosse, WA

Sites vary in quality, but the real gem here is the camp spot at the end of the little jetty road that has water on 3 sides, a covered picnic table, and lots of privacy. – boondockinglife


Stewarts Point – Overton, NV

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very easy access and close to the water for paddling. The dirt is hard packed and wasn’t very dusty at all. Great views. Close to Valley of Fire. – Scott


White Oak Lake State Park – Bluff City, AR

We absolutely loved this park. It is relatively small and intimate. The RV sites are paved and well laid out. The scenery is beautiful. We will definitely camp here again. – TxDave


Millerton Lake State Recreation Area – Friant, CA

We had to stop on our first leg in Fresno upon arriving locals told us of the hidden gem. We headed out and found this beautiful oasis. – Sylvia


New River State Park – Jefferson, NC

We have been going to New River SP for 8 years, usually 2x a year. beautiful views of the Blue Ridge mountains. We stay in the RV area on top of the hill, small with very new and clean bathhouse. – wanderlust


Marshall Lake – Flagstaff, AZ

Overall this was a beautiful and quiet place to stay. The sunsets were gorgeous and we saw plenty of squirrels and rabbits around. – Yukon&Bean


Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area – Kenansville, FL

Each site is Huge, under beautiful hammock trees. Right on the trail, wildlife, quiet, awesomeness! – Lisa


Cedar Point Campground – Swansboro, NC

Within minutes of town and one bridge away from beautiful beaches, lies Cedar Point Campground. Spaces are extremely generous with large grassy areas and level paved sites for your RV. – CLewis


Datil Well Campground – Datil, NM

This campground is a real hidden treasure. I don’t think I have seen such a clean well cared for campground in quite a while. – Rusty


Crooked River State Park – St. Marys, GA

Big sites with room between you and your neighbor. Would definitely stay again, only able to stay one night because they were all booked up for the holiday. – ChasingTabor


Brazoria Beach – Surfside Beach, TX

Beautiful location, right on the beach for FREE. – Lori


Smithwoods RV Park – Felton, CA

Loved this place! Nice staff, nice sites, nice showers, no wifi or cell reception. Situated right in the redwoods, some hollowed out trunks that you can climb in. – Mels55


White Rock Mountain Recreation Area, Ozark National Forest – Winslow, AR

White Rock Mountain is a perfect non-electric camping spot. We absolutely loved hiking the Rim Trail around the park, and it is a trail head for the Ozark Highland Trail. – Joe


Stephen C. Foster State Park – Fargo, GA

There was lots of wildlife all around the camp including dear, raccoons, alligators, and all sorts of birds. This was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to everyone! – SteveL
