Bayou Segnette State Park | Louisiana State Park – Westwego, LA

I honestly can’t find a reason to dock a star from this one… I was looking for a place that was nice and quiet, not too expensive, and close to New Orleans (especially the French Quarter) and this place ticked all of those boxes. – Blake

Hole in the Wall Campground
Hole in the Wall Campground | Mojave National Preserve – Cima, CA

The campground was about half full, so we had no problem finding an awesome site in the upper reaches of the campground. We had just left the sweltering heat of Lake Mohave, and the weather was perfect while we were there. – cc and canine

Chattahoochee Bend State Park | Georgia State Park – Newnan, GA

Chattahootchee Bend is 2500 acres in size – large, hilly expanses of beautiful woods. I stayed here over Thanksgiving week, so the campground was pretty full, with lots of families, but it was very quiet and peaceful. – K Smith

Decided to spend 2019 Christmas here, and are so glad we did! The cavern tours were fantastic (we did both the Big Room and the Throne Room), beautiful colors and wonderful history. – Kgolding05

Isle du Bois Ray Roberts Lake State Park
Isle du Bois | Ray Roberts Lake State Park – Pilot Point, TX

The lost pines in this park really amplify the beauty to a DFW native. It’s a bizarre convergence of the Pineywoods, Plains, and Prairie regions and you can encounter each on a single trail. – N1ck

Lake 13 Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge
Lake 13 | Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge – Maxwell, NM

No one else was around when we stopped. Even though it’s pretty close to Maxwell it was very quiet. Picnic tables and trash bins but no fires allowed. Beautiful views of the lake. Overall a great place to park.- SimpleJoyfulJourney
