“Conveniently located to highway and downtown. Friendly people, new C/G, sites not very level front to back. ”

Pricing is high and then add taxes; you're getting up there. Because it was Confederation Day weekend we made reservations thru Reserve Canada made the charges even higher.

All the sites are large and well spaced. I'm sure the city engineer thought it was a good idea to have all the sites slope towards the river in front, for drainage and view. However, to get level for slides and refrigerators as well as comfort you have to raise the front of the RV quite high. Yes, there are train noise problems and during weekdays the CN yard right behind the C/G can be distracting with their comings and goings as well as equipment noise. But, on the whole, if you have to hole up for a couple of days it is a good place to be with a good view across a beautiful river into Quebec and the Gaspe` mountains. Also shopping is nearby as is the Visitor Center. The C/G adm. building has a laundry and a supper restaurant. WiFi is excellent, but I can't comment on cell phone coverage. I assume it would be good if you had the right carrier.

“Good overnight stop - Big Rig Friendly”

Overall Rating

Pros: 1) Convenient overnight stop between Gaspe and Prince Edward Island, 2) They allow RV washing, 3) Good free wifi.
Cons: 1) The sites are not level -- we choose a more expensive water view site, since the site length should have allowed us to stay hooked-up. That site (and it appears all nearby sites) was a bit off level front-to-back and side-to-side; we needed to unhook the truck from the RV to level (which included putting wood under the tires on one side of the RV) and open the slides. Given the campground is only a few months old, sites that are off level side-to-side is a bit surprising, 2) the campground is overpriced, but we would probably stay here again given the convenient location; 3) there is some train noise, since there are train tracks directly next to the campground (but our sleep was not disturb, during our one-night stay).
Note: There are a few low bridges near the campground. I would suggest that you do not solely rely on a GPS for directions to/from this campground (i.e., our RV GPS wanted us to go under one of the low bridges when leaving the campground; we thankfully had already identified that low bridge and had pre-determined our desired route for leaving the campground).
