We’re originally from the area, but have since moved away are we’re traveling through the area in our TT and needed a place to stay for the night. Decided on this camping area due to its proximity to everything- local restaurants, Metra line into Chicago, grocery, etc. There were 6 spots located in a small camping loop. However, ever spot is situated so that they are spaced out well and fairly private from one another. 1-3 seem to be closest together. 5 and 6 have paved pads, while 1-4 are gravel. On-site staff available 24 hours and your stay comes with 1 free bundle of firewood. Firewood is also available onsite for purchase, along with area guides in the office. Bathroom and showers on-site, but it didn’t appear there was water hookup at the site. Sewer hookup and 50/30 amp available. We stayed at site 4 and had many electrical issues in the early morning. The surge protector kept shutting the power off due to identifying electrical issues. Tried switching from 50 to 30 amp and still had issues. Other than that, peaceful stay and highly recommend!

Perfect for a stop to visit Chicago. Without traffic, you can reach downtown Chicago in 45 minutes. The campground only has about four or five sites with vehicle access. Sites are electric, and water from shower house is available with a long hose to fill up your tank without moving your RV.

Clean, small park.
Electric and sewage for RVs. Only 5 spots for RVs. Some tent camping. Some cabins.
Level parking for RV.
Very clean shower house/flush toilets.
Also there are trails connected to the campground.
Mosquitoes were brutal. Plan accordingly.

The staff were very helpful, and are on site 24 hours a day. This was necessary as there are no water spigots at the RV sites. The staff has to hook up a very very long hose and will bring it to your site. You can get water, it’s just an inconvenience for you and them. But they do it with a good attitude.
It’s a great location if you’re seeing family and friends in the area. And it’s within walking distance to stores and restaurants.
This would have been 5 stars if not for the water not being available. Oh, and bathrooms and tent sites are closed due to Covid.

Close to downtown Chicago and plenty to do in the surrounding area, especially if you like breweries! Palatine is far enough out of the city where you really don't have too much traffic and you can still hop a train downtown.
Beware that if you take Dundee into the park, it's a bumpy ride..better to take Lake Cook Rd. Once you get on Quentin it's a rough road too. The whole area just has poopy pot hole filled roads!
Verizon and AT&T were pretty slow but enough to work remote.
Site 1 was pretty small and unlevel but sites 4 and 5 were paved and level. You only get electric and sewer but the electric is on the wrong side! You can ask at front desk and they can bring out a long hose to fill your water tank. They were able to reach us in site 5.
Tons of wildlife, a whole park of hiking and biking trails to enjoy, but there was definitely lots of road traffic. Quentin is a very busy road! It can be nearly impossible to turn left out of the park.
Pricing depends on day. They stick it to you really hard as a non resident. Weekend days are a whopping $60 a night! Ouch! Not that you have another choice to be that close to the city. They know it and they get you for it. It's a nice park, and it's worth the price if you want to be in the area.
Note that the gate does close around 10pm. There is a parking area outside the gate if you get caught out and you can go over/under walking if you need to.

In addition to the small (5 site) RV loop, there are also 13 tent sites available. This campground is located in the NW suburbs of Chicago and is about a 1 hour drive (depending on traffic) to downtown. With very limited options in the Chicago area, this is a decent option for a short stay.
The sites are good sized, level and could accommodate larger rigs. Some are gravel, some are paved and all have the unusual combination of electric and sewer hookups (no water @ each site). There are spigots scattered in the tent area and the office has up to 150 feet of water hose (I was told) which can be used to fill up from the spigot near the bathhouse. There are no spigots in the RV loop. One sketchy feature is that the sites have the sewer and electrical post on different sides of the pad. You will need a good 20 to 25 feet of cord to hook up electric if you back in. Site #1 has both hookups on the proper side. Each site has a table and fire pit. The campground is located on a busy road, so traffic noise is definitely a factor here, especially during weekday morning rush hour..
The facilities are nice and new. The bathhouse has one toilet, one sink and four shower stalls. I suppose this could be an issue if the tent area is full as I could see a line waiting for the sink and/or toilet (there were no tenters here on the 3 weekdays we were there). The campground closes its gate at 10 pm each night. If you need to enter after that (we did) you have to call and let them know you are at the gate and they then let you in. Apparently, someone is on site (not a host, per se) at all hours. We have US Cellular cell service which was available at the campground. No wifi here.
