Arrival - Great pre-arrival communication. Day of arrival - met at gate by Phil and directed to registration lane. Phil brought us out our paperwork and explained various amenities and rules and sent us on our way to our site.
Tips - Take your time on the drive down but, get there as early as possible to get in your site as easily as possible. Most of the sites are back-in and pretty tight. If you want to be closer to the ocean or the sound, chose your site wisely. Site #210 is closer to the ocean but still about 2 blocks away; there are sites literally off the dunes and off the sand on the ocean and sound respectively.
Favorites - Proximity to ocean and sound for sunrise/sunsets. Site #210 is right off the septic field which sounds nasty but affords you a huge back yard of grass for the kids and the pets. The people are super friendly and the resort is super clean. Well worth the $105/night for us veterans. Clear line of sight overhead for Starlink. Great location for viewing launches out of VA.
Negatives - Too many sites, too much traffic, too many people.

We had possibly the best site in the place. Our view was amazing. There are many things to do in this park if you can stop looking at the water long enough which we couldn't. We love the area and are looking forward to going back. Having said all that I've never paid so much to camp in my life but we'll pay it again in the future.

We liked the campground. The location is fantastic, but it is a bit packed in.

Husband and I stayed here 7/3 - 7/9 2022 and really enjoyed ourselves. We worked during the week and didn't utilize too many of the amenities at the campground.
Check in was super easy. Stayed in our vehicle and was met at the gate. When we arrived they said they had someone out there until 10pm to guide people in.
Everyone that we interacted with staff wise were amazing and helpful. There was always a laugh or two to be had.
Everyone was really good about adhering to the 10pm quiet hours.
Dog park was well maintained and large enough. We brought our SwiftPaws lure coursing system with us and were able to set it up.
No trash pickup, but dumpsters are located frequently throughout the park, I never noticed them overflowing either.
Sites are kind of cramped so if you tend to enjoy being more spread out, it may not be to your liking.
People were constantly cutting through our site regardless of the "Be Considerate No Walking Thru Sites" to get to the pool/laundry/storefront area.
Arcade quarter exchange was done for our trip.
Pool is small, but there is an indoor and outdoor option.
Propane refill on site has been down for about a month, I guess they're waiting on a part to come in and don't have an ETA. The Liberty down the street and KOA will both be able to do propane refills.
Service is non-existent which is typical for OBX. There are open wifi connections available, but they are hit or miss.
Overall, if you're going to do a trip to OBX during July 4th weekend, you're going to pay a lot of money regardless of where you stay. We enjoyed our time here even though it was rather expensive. With the beach access so close we were willing to pay the price.

A great bonus! Game room, indoor and outdoor pool, and Jacuzzi we never used but I am sure they were great. Very friendly staff. Way better than the KOA next door!

I like that there was access to sound and ocean. Nice pools, playgrounds, mini golf, arcade, camp store. Sites were very close together but it didn’t feel busy. Sites were level and hookups worked great.

We held a Rally for our Airstream Club Unit. 14 trailers. The campground grouped us together on ghe Sound side. so we could socialize. Bathrooms were spotless. Conference center was nice for group activities.
Concrete pads with picnic tables. Level and long.
Will return again.
Excellent WiFi reception.

Who doesn’t love a face full of hate flags when they spend their hard earned money on a family vacation? I’ve never been more disappointed in a water front campground.

As with most beach parks, the sites are small, treeless and close together. Staff was friendly and one man gave our dog a treat. We liked that there were restaurants nearby with outdoor dining. Things are very busy in the resort after dark with a lot of bike, scooter, vehicle and golf cart traffic. The bathhouses were pretty clean considering its the beach. The closest bathhouse to our site was in the middle of a field with no way to get to with without walking between two sites. There was a wifi but we had trouble getting on. They had hot dog day and ice cream for a modest price while we were there that seemed popular with families. For us it was all about the beach.
