“Very Small Campground”

Reviewed Dec 04, 2017

Overall Rating

This is a very small campground but we were lucky enough to camp near the front across from the host and had a lot of privacy. Ojai is very close and it is a cool little town to hang out in. The bathroom was clean and there is also a small laundry room. There is also a beautiful park right in front of the campground.

“Tiny county park 2 miles from downtown Ojai”

Reviewed Jan 21, 2017

Overall Rating

There are just a dozen or so full hookup spots in this older county park. Free and lightning fast wifi and a little laundromat and the host was one of the friendliest we've ever met. The park entrance is lined by very old trees, and this park would not be a good choice for big rigs.

Pros:

  • Free, super fast wifi
  • Laundry
  • Location - you're 2 miles from cute and scenic downtown Ojai, as well as miles of hiking and biking trails (though none are accessible right from the park). There's a bike trail that goes all the way to Ventura (about 15 miles away), and a really beautiful and well marked trail system that starts at the end of Shelf Rd.

Cons:

  • Dogs are allowed in the campground, which is very small, but not in the neighboring park area. (There are plenty of hikes very nearby though)
  • Most sites are pretty short, and ours had a major front to back slope - we had to use 6 blocks in the front to level it.
  • Most sites don't have much of a view, and there's a fairly busy road close to the park.
