We stayed a couple nights here and then got a visit from a State Trooper who said overnight camping is not permitted in the sno-parks. (There is no sign saying that.) I don’t know if that’s a rule just for this Forest or if it’s supposed to be state-wide. We stayed in a sno-park by Mt Hood a few weeks ago and had many neighbors so it was definitely an ok thing up there.
But this is a lovely parking area with a clean bathroom. No trash service or water.

Stayed here overnight in our Revel van on a trip from SLC to Crater Lake. It was just what we needed for a good nights sleep after a long day of driving and before heading up to the crater. Yes its basically a parking area but it does have a lot of space. We pulled in late at night, parked close to the bathrooms and picnic table. Its just below 5,000 feet and since it was still March it was cold with some snow on the ground. Pit toilets were clean, it was very quiet, with only a little road noise the following morning. Super close to the road made for easy access and departure.

Stayed in September 2021 and less than a half mile off of HWY140. Follow the signs for Camas Sno-Park and drive all the way to either the lower lot or upper lot. Sno-park is basically a parking lot for snowmobilers to unload and load their trailers. A couple of picnic tables and a vault toilet are the only facilities. Paved, but I couldn.t find a spot to level out. Just yards from Rt. 140, but it's not a busy road at all, so it's very quiet, and the stars are amazing. Great verizon. You ne... more
