“View Blocked by Solar Panels and NO GREEN GRASS, But Okay for a Night”

Reviewed Oct 28, 2018

Overall Rating

I was drawn to this place by the photos posted of green grass. Caveat: there is NO GREEN GRASS! It's being replaced by cheaper-to-maintain but depressing to look at gravel that's a slip hazard for seniors and made me feel sorry for the kids and dogs. And the view of the beautiful mountains? Now blocked by huge ugly structures to hold solar panels.

Not surprisingly, it's not a "resort" either. I expect an RV resort to be a destination stop, with entertainment, a restaurant or two, special features, maybe a casino. Here you get no cable TV (hookup is there, but they're no longer offering it) and wi-fi that doesn't work (I ended up tethering to my phone that was getting one bar of Verizon). There are no picnic tables or fire rings at the sites and no place to walk the dog but a dirt strip around the perimeter.

Having said that it's probably fine for an overnight stop if you just need to do your laundry and shower. The staff in the office are pleasant. The pull-through sites are close to level and there is just enough room between sites to feel a little privacy. The restroom/showers are modern and spotless. There is a store with a few things you might need. There is a very nice pool and spa, although there are no umbrella tables and so no relief from the sun poolside.

But whether it's the gravel, or the lack of picnic tables, or what, the campground has a sterile, off-putting vibe. People tend to cocoon inside their rigs instead of socialize. I would have blamed it on the World Series, but it was like a ghost town at all hours. We arrived on a Friday and left on Sunday and I saw one person at the pool and two at the spa the whole weekend.

Not a fun place.

“Very convenient and clean spot for a night or two”

Reviewed Apr 16, 2017

Overall Rating

California RV resort staff is very helpful. Great wifi, clean restrooms/showers, full hook-up. The resort is also very quiet and peaceful and has great views from the pool, hot tub area. The spaces are drive through which makes things very convenient for a quick one or two night stay too.

The front desk receptionist, Alicia, was very pleasant and helpful and arranged for a late check-in with the evening security team. Alicia answered all of our questions and although she was a little hesitant to allow our dog, we appreciated her asking questions to get to know our specific dog and his behavior rather than blanketly following a policy that restricts all of one breed.

Richard, the night security guard, was awesome! Super friendly and helpful. Met us at the front gate, gave us a map and instructions on where our space was and even sold us an extra water hose he had which we inadvertently left at home.
