After camping in southwest Colorado for 5 weeks stopped here on my way home, my dad took me there as a kid 40 years ago fishing but we never camped. Talked to the guys at Duranglers fly fishing shop in Durango and they told me about this camp ground, it was mid august, I only had 2 days to spare stayed 8 we were the only ones camping there, right on the Deloris River, I will forever call it my Nirvana Spot, tough but great fishing, 12 miles of it up to the dam, there's water and pit toilets, stock up on supplies, it's a long way to the store, there a dump station before you get to the campground a mile or less, it is dry camping at it's best and great fly fishing for wild brown, cuts and rainbows, I can't wait to get back. There is another campground up the valley towards the dam but was further away from the river. No cell, sat tv great, sorry no pictures but trees for shade, and in a canyon setting.
