Lots of birds, not many people. We pulled in about 7pm on a Sunday night in early May and no one else there. A truck camper came in about an hour after us and parked at the other end of the camping area. Really beautiful lake. Amenities not well maintained but we didn't really need anything. Dumpster available for garbage. Road in is dirt and looks like it would not be fun if wet. Camping area is grass and we only stayed one night since we were expecting storms the next day and didn't want to get stuck. I think this would be a great spot if the weather were nice for a few days. Diesel/Gas available in Kennebec, but it is expensive - about 50 cents more a gallon than if you get it back at the Pilot to the West. Great overnight stop for us. If you want to use the electric, you have to get a key to the padlock on the electric box and pay by calling the office number posted on the sign. Free for no services, electric is $20 per night. Windy so we were not able to kayak, but looks like it would be a good swimming/kayaking lake in the summer time. Some trash laying around but not too bad.

I arrived at sunset-looking to get out of the wind. Missed the turn due to gps instructions. Look for the sign -don’t follow gps.
It is a beautiful spot - level and well maintained.
I am sure this odd busy by the local community during the summer but quiet night.

Was a great place to stop on our drive from Chicago, arrived at 8PM. Woke up with a beautiful sunrise and the view of the lake. Can’t ask for anything better, plus free for tent camping.

We arrived late at night and The GPS had me go pass the road that takes you to the lake and said park your car and walk in. This meant we missed the road and since I’m towing a vehicle I cannot turn around easily and therefore I had to follow the 6 mile Dirt road in a big loop to come back to the entrance.
Once we arrived at the site, if you follow the road all the way to the end there’s a loop so you can easily turn around and come back. There’s a couple spots with electric boxes that have locks you have to arrange for in advance, there’s a dumpster and plenty of spots with great views of the water.

We camped the night of July 1st-July 2nd and it was surprisingly busy but then I realized it was 4th of July weekend and that made a lot more sense. The RV sites were practically packed but the tent camping area just down the road only had one other family there.
Nice flat ground, a fire ring (yay!), and a big dumpster were all on-site for use. The lake was nice and clean and it gave the kids an opportunity to go swimming and get out of our hair for a bit. The ONLY downside I found with the camping was that as soon as we set our canopy up, flies came out of nowhere.
We plan to stay here again when we go back through the area.

There are 5 pay sites (electric only) and plenty of level space where free camping is allowed. There is a swimming area, and a dock for fishing. Also has a pit toilet, and dumpster available. It was a nice, safe place for an overnight. We would definitely stay here again, if in the area.

We stopped here for one night to get out of the wind. The electric sites are along a nice windbreak which provides good protection from strong northerly winds. I would like to have been here in better weather as it looks like a very nice place to paddle and spend a few days. There is one free, dry camping, spot to the west of site #1 that would provide good northerly protection. The other free spots are very open to the wind. Great Starlink speeds here. Lots of trash in the trees, very disappointing that so many people can't bother to properly dispose of their trash.
