We stayed at By The River Campground for four nights in early April. We had reserved a premium site on the water, which meant it was double wide and had a fabulous view. Checkin was great with very friendly staff. There is a small but well-kept pool next to the office, which we didn't use). Laundry is also next to the office and is only open 9 am - 5 pm.
Our site was grassy with some gravel, a picnic table, and a fire pit. Due to the extreme drought in the area, no wood fires are allowed right now. The site was quite large and private. A Class B came in next to us for a couple of nights, but it felt spacious and private even then. I was amazed how few RVers were here camping in early April since it was such a beautiful spot.
The geese and squirrels were out on the grounds, and we saw some deer. It was so relaxing being here! The area areas to take short walks, including out on the island, which serves tent campers. Our dog loved playing in the river each day.
The campground is a nice spot to explore the Hill Country of Texas, which is a beautiful part of the state. Kerrville is a couple of miles away and Medina, Bandera, and Fredricksburg are close.
Cell signal is so so. We had some trouble playing videos at night with stop and start.
We have a Pepwave Router with a MIMO antenna mounted on the roof. We have AT&T and T-Mobile Sim cards in the router.
AT&T: 9.4 Mpps DN; 8.98 Mbps UP
T-Mobile: 46.42 Mbps DN; 3.59 Mbps UP
Our mobile phones are on T-Mobile. Sometimes 5G and sometimes LTE signal, usually with 2-3 bars.
Service was surprisingly slow on the phones: 4.45 Mbps DN; 2.21 Mbps UP.

Leaving today after 4 nights, definitely should have scheduled longer. Lovely peaceful place with good walking paths, plenty of space for the pup to run. Check in and camp hosts super pleasant people. Definitely worth checking out!

The park is very large (63 acres) so plenty of room to enjoy. We had a premium waterfront lot which is double wide. It was nice to have the extra space. Our lot was also very shady. I recommend the lots further down to be closer to the trails.

What a wonderful place for our first night in our RV. Very quiet and peaceful. Big property to take a nice hike along the Guadalupe River. Get a waterfront site if you want shade. We will definitely be back to this place.

Only stayed one night here, but wish we could have stayed longer. Easy check in process and our site was level. Had a premium waterfront site which gave us plenty of space. Will be back.

(Especially the cable) However... all that being said: The folks we camped next to, and the people at the front desk were as nice as any I have encountered. The access to the river is great... We fished (didn't catch anything) and walked the numerous trails... took pictures of hawks, axis deer, and whitetail deer. The river is really nice, and the proximity to town is convenient. When you compare to the other larger RV Resorts in the area this is very quiet and low key. If we come back this way we will consider staying here again. AT&T Cell phone reception was very good!

This park felt secluded while being very close to amenities in Ingram. We chose a waterfront site which didn’t make much of a difference but winding down while facing the river felt really nice. Kids enjoyed wading around in the stream that’s about thigh deep for most adults. Sites were lightly graveled with a paved access road.

Our 2nd time here & by far our favorite campground. Loved our site # (we got lucky & reserved it due to someone's cancellation) but there are other premium sites right on the water with ample shade. I almost don't want to post this review because it's similar to sharing a super secret great fishing hole! But that isn't fair to By the River in Kerrville-they are that awesome. Big spacious, shaded site, friendly & respectful campground helpers & desk staff, tons to do, a good restaurant right next door, stores close enough for last minute needs, beautiful biking trails on the river in town etc. Can't name all the pluses here-there's too many. The only negative is the tent people who rented the area around 'the eye'. They were very rude to us & told us we couldn't go in the river close to their tents because they rented that area for 3 months. There are plenty of other areas to get in the water but there is a sign that says 'The Eye' with an arrow for swimming so it's confusing. We did share this with the front office staff.
Now I may regret posting this because we may not be able to get in because you all will take the good spots! :)
Don't hesitate. Just call em' & go!

Great spot. Gated park so feels secure. All sites are within walking distance of the river. Hiking trails and fishing areas are great. Gravel pads with full hook ups are not quite level in some places so you will need some blocks. If you can, request a shady spot by the river and out of the sun. Will stay here again!
