We love the location of this campground. The road in the campground was extremely dusty and two days before we left. they came in and put down some calcium chloride. The best sites of course are along the lake. This is all a reservable campground no first come first serve. Sites varied in size, but ours was very spacious.
There are a few small trails within the campground. I did the 3 Pond Loop which was approximately 1 mile. The trail down to the dog beach is approximately 1 mile depending where you left from the campground. The dog beach area had multiple areas where you could be by yourself. The water was warm enough to swim which our dogs did plenty of. We never went down to the regular beach. We did sit in the boat launch area where I had left my paddleboard. We used our star link at the boat launch area and got reception.
There are many hiking availabilities ranging from east to very difficult.
They were catching trout on the lake.
Outhouses were smelly but not as clean as we have encountered at other provincial parks.
Water you had to pump and trash was available. No dump station.
Rangers were friendly. We were lucky that a volunteer was at the information station. He said it is rarely opened. There’s a huge map there with a number of trails. The visitor center is just a small little cabin with some books, bones and feathers along with other typical artifacts.
Outdoor Girl would stay here again
