These sites are for residents with hunting/fishing licenses only. Wildlife officer who told me was nice about it, but I did have to leave. And it can be a fine for trespassing so just don’t risk it.

I have stayed here twice and have enjoyed it both times. I didn’t stay during hunting season, it is probably pretty full then.

Amazing wonderful surprise to find a free campground so close to Raleigh/Durham. No frills, some trash left at sites. Pine forest with each site pretty private. Two other campers on a Friday night.

If you have a longer rig like we do I would NOT come in after dark. Was a comfortable night, road noise was minimal after about 10pm, only one other camper down at the end and no bother.

Stayed here for 2 nights. No one else was here. No official sites just open areas. Could possibly fit about 12 campers. Road in was solid but some of the sites were soft. Stayed here for 2 nights. No one else was here. No official sites just open areas. Could possibly fit about 12 campers. Road in was solid but some of the sites were soft. I did a u-turn and backed straight in. I am in a 31 foot motor home. There are a few fire rings. I found a 55 gallon barrel that was cut in half and used that as my fire ring. This place is closed Feb 28 to March 31 and again September 1 to May 1. There are no facilities here. We did hear a pack of coyotes screaming but they did no bother us. I used the GPS coordinates to find this place. Make sure you have your eyes open because you could miss it. It doesn't look like much from the road. There was a little trash that I cleaned up.This place has been neglected since it was created. Needs a little TLC and it would be awesome.
